Only a handful of Kindai tuna get flown to the U.S. every week. The Kindai is farmed from bluefin eggs in Japan, a process that some call more sustainable than trolling for bluefin on the open ocean. Some conservationists argue that this method does little to save the bluefin population.
Regardless of what side you're on, it's clear that bluefin is a prized piece of fish, Kindai or not. New York's Del Posto restaurant found itself on the receiving end of a large Kindai and asked chef Hideo Kuribara, of sushi restaurant Ushiwakamaru to break down the beast.

Sushi dinner can boost sperm quality; omega-3 fatty acid present in fish can raise male fertility
Marine fish like salmon and tuna are excellent sources of DHA
NEW YORK DAILY NEWS
Wednesday, January 11 2012, 11:53 AM
A scientist began to investigate the importance of DHA in male fertility after finding that mice which lacked the fatty acid were basically infertile.
Gents, if you want your swimmers to get some tail action, best tuck into a plate of fish.
To understand the importance of omega-3 fatty acids in male fertility, itfs important to understand the anatomy of sperm.
As researchers from the University of Illinois explain it, normal sperm are composed of a cap-like structure that surrounds the anterior end of the sperm head called the acrosome.
Itfs here, in the cap, where the enzymes needed to successfully penetrate an egg are housed and concentrated.
But in order for the sperm to develop this arch or cap-like structure and the rest of the building blocks needed to fuse the rest of the sperm together -- pointy head and extra long tail -- sperm need a certain omega-3 fatty acid called docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), the study, announced Monday, found.
gWithout DHA, this vital structure doesn't form and sperm cells don't work," said Timothy Abbott, study co-author.
Marine fish like salmon and tuna are excellent sources of DHA.
The scientist began to investigate the importance of DHA in male fertility after finding that mice which lacked the fatty acid were basically infertile.
When DHA was introduced into the micefs diet, however, fertility was completely restored.
Because DHA is also abundant in tissues like the brain, retina and the testes, authors of the study say their research could have implications relating to brain function and cognitive illnesses like dementia and vision.
Meanwhile, another study out of Harvard University last year also found that poor nutrition can damage sperm quality, as those who consumed diets high in saturated fats including deep-fried and processed foods had poor-quality swimmers compared to men who ate whole grains, vegetables and fish regularly.
Foods that have been shown to boost male fertility include eggs, salmon, natural yogurt, nuts, seeds, berries, sweet potatoes, broccoli and asparagus.

Big fuggin' surprise!
I don't wish illness on anybody but the butter done fell out the closet and it's far from shocking news given the way she guzzles grits and dresses everything with flour & butter, even her socks.

Paula Deen Diabetes Rumors Say The TV Star Will Soon Reveal Diagnosis, Drug Endorsement
Huffington Post
Posted: 1/13/12 10:48 AM ET
The Daily is reporting that Paula Deen, the large-living queen of heavy cooking, is about to come clean with what some say has long been her dirtiest secret: her diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes.
Rumors of Deen's diabetes first started to swirl in April, when The National Enquirer and The Daily Mail both reported that the TV chef was hiding her disease for fear that it would endanger her credibility as a chef.
There's no doubt that fans would be upset to learn that Deen had been keeping such a major disease, and a major consequence of heavy eating, from their knowledge. It would certainly cast an alarming pall over the reckless abandon with which she endorses delicacies like turducken. And it would lend support to rival Anthony Bourdain's much-ballyhooed critique of Deen's culinary style.
It's worth noting, though, that in the past nine months, Deen has diversified her activities away from her old monomaniacal focus on fatty foods. She's been selling flavored lip balms and announced plans for a clothing line. She wrote a best-selling cookbook and ink a contract for two more, at a new publisher. And her son Bobby recently debuted his Cooking Channel show "Not My Mama's Meals," which showcases healthy versions of Southern classics.
Deen has also been slowly moving toward greater candor in recent months: she admitted to smoking cigarettes on a recent episode of the Dr. Oz show. And Deen will soon be appearing, in her own home, on an episode of Oprah's new OWN show, Oprah's Next Chapter. Given the timing, the latter could even be a perfect venue for the diabetes confession.
But if Deen has successfully hidden her diabetes so far, why change tack now?
The Daily has a potentially convincing answer: she's in it for the money. According to the rumors the iPad publication has heard, Deen has signed a deal to endorse a diabetes medication from major pharmaceuticals company Novartis. Leave it up to Deen to turn what could have been a career-wrecking scandal into a financial windfall.

Face it, she's a whore.
Yeah the notion that she would time her announcement to endorse some over prescribed medication INSTEAD of promoting a healthier lifestyle which has been shown to REVERSE Type 2 Diabetes makes that dreadfully apparent.

Light snack anyone?
While Agoura Hill's The Lab will give your full money back if its burger doesn't make your top ten list this week, Hollywood brat bar District 13 is busy beefing up its menu with seven new burgers, some of which are exotic enough to merit mention. The new list features burgers made from duck, lamb, and buffalo, attached to recommended beer pairings, though the most incredible introduction must surely be the "50/50" you see above.
While the name sounds like something you might have arranged in a backroom deal at In-N-Out, we've never glimpsed one of these being washed down with Revelation 3:20. The burger features a patty made with 50% Angus, the other 50% with bacon, topped with two of the earth's greatest ingredients, avocado and egg, with bell pepper, jack cheese, and a chipotle aioli, priced at $13. Wrap your head around the new burger menu, featured below, and wrap your mouth around one of these if so moved at 1556 N. Cahuenga Blvd.
MENU
BURGERS add fries or beer battered onion rings for $2.50. (all burgers served on a brioche bun) (Not into buns? Can be served on a bed of arugula.)

I checked this out...pretty daunting task. You definitely need to know what you're doing or you might ruin a several thousand dollar bluefin.

For a minute there, I thought the melted cheese was a raw egg yolk.
It does have an egg in it though. ^_^
