As expected, Lakers go down in OKC, 106-90.

Now it's the Thunder and the Spurs for the West title.

There and I thought the Basket Ball season was completely over.

The Warriors just announced that they will be building a new Arena complex in San Francisco. Looks like they will be out of Oakland in 2017 (when their lease is up at Oracle) and they can finally drop that idiotic, generic, "Golden State" moniker.

Things are looking up.

Well, when they first moved west from Philadelphia they were the "San Francisco Warriors" and played at the Cow Palace. Btw, I could never figure that out, "Cow Palace" sounds like it should be in Omaha not San Francisco. Head Scratch

Mark

The Cow Palace looks like it should be in Omaha. In a poor part of Omaha. (They still show cattle and horses there.)

And just for the absurdity of it all... the San Francisco Warriors (1962 - 1971) played at the Cow Palace... which is in Daly City, just south of the San Francisco border.

They also played at the S.F. Civic Auditorium. And sometimes they played their home games in Oakland, and sometimes in San Jose. They moved over to Oakland and became the G.S. Warriors in 1971. (Same year I moved to Oakland.)

The only reason the Celts didn't lose by like 20 was because the Sixers wanted to prove they could also play like crap. It was like two amateur teams playing. Shake Head

They also played in the USF gym.

Some pictures of the San Francisco Warriors...

for this years playoffs,

OKC has shown great progression in the past three years, and have done quite well this post-season.
But i do think they are a step behind with the Spurs, as I do think San Antonio will win that series in 6 or 7 games. I will be surprise if OKC takes it and wins it all this year. Miami and Spurs in the finals with Spurs winning in 6 or 7 games. They are just too tough, in offense and defense efficiency. Like a well-oiled machine, just simply too good and best, and too much for most teams. It is how teams match up, not so much their overall record of wins/losses in the regular season, but Spurs are an exception, and too tough, but it'd be nice if OKC can win it all, a much more exciting team to watch and cheer for.
