rofl Can't argue with that. I guess it's all part of the fantasy of being some where else, and new at the time.

I wasn't as lucky as Toshi-kun to see the Sakura in Ueno Park. It was still a nice walk, though. Victory! Peace!

The benefits of waking up really early: near empty station!

We stumbled onto this marketplace when we were walking to Ueno Park. Later I found out it's called Ameyoko, a very busy, typical "asian" market. Because we were there so early, the rush hadn't arrived yet.

Panda Sighting #1!

Panda sighting #2!

Nice pics! It appears you had an abundance of good weather. Cool shots. I saw the Saigo Takamori statue as well. Love those types of markets. There are always so colorful, literally and figuratively.

I would've preferred it if you saw Ueno at Sakura Park. In love

The nice weather was short-lived. It rained on us in Kyoto a bit. Doh!

Yeah well it rained off and on while I was there as well. The day I went to Ueno Koen it drizzled a bit but nothing could blunt my enthusiasm for the sakura in full bloom. It was glorious. Big Grin

Nice list of drama's you're watching, Saigo Kara Nibanme no Koi is definitely one of my favorites : )

Thanks! I got distracted by Meitante no Okite, but now I'm back to watching it. On episode 10 now. It's really refreshing to watch a drama starring people my age.

Also, the friend I'm staying with has bought tickets for a bird (kRLI) concert in Tokyo on the 23rd. She's my favorite jazz singer. My favorite female singer of any genre, really.

Can't wait!

LOL. lol That is hilarious. I love Captain Haddock! When you go to Tokyo you should visit Cat Street, they have a Tintin shop there!

I took a picture.

I recently saw the Tintin cartoon on Netflix. It's rad. My father read Tintin as a child.

I will DEFINITELY stop by the Tintin shop! Thanks for the tip!

I read the books as a child. Admittedly, I'm kinda old. hehe Haven't seen the movie yet but it's on my short list.

Nice.

Captain Haddock, go forth and find the treasure of Red Rackham! hehe

You should watch the cartoon. It's awesome. There are three seasons.

Akihabara by Day

This is the mall I was at when I felt a tremor. It was a small earthquake that sorta went unnoticed. The next day, when we drove to Hakone, Japan suffered a large Earthquake that made the news. Can you believe it? I missed it be ONE day.

On a side note, this mall has everything NERDY! I LUFFED it!

We weren't allowed to take pictures inside of the Maid Cafe, but here are two that I took (all sneaky) of the food I ordered. It was a very cute pancake, but the taste was... meh. I must say, though, that EVERYONE has to experience a Maid Cafe. It's out-of-this-world bizarre!

Akihabara by Night

hehe I'll confess I've never been inside one but I was well acquainted with their massive selection from stuff I read before I first went to Japan.

It's really extensive, the amount of stuff they had. They have different floors and each is dedicated to something. Like cameras/electronics, manga/anime paraphernalia, books and magazines, toys, stationary, etc. I probably spent half the day there before my peeps forced me to leave. Shameful Cry
