Since I skipped dinner yesterday I had a nice unhealthy breakfast at Langer's Delicatessen this morning.

#44 Hot pastrami, Sauerkraut, and Nippy Cheese on grilled rye

HAHA. I know, huh? Beaten The thing about Langer's which I discovered by experience is if you attempt to go there at a typical lazy brunch type hour on Saturday like early afternoon, the line is out the door! Since I woke up early and hungry I figured I'd make a trip down there before the throngs of people showed up. In any event, the sandwich isn't what you'd call light so I eat half for breakfast and had the other half for lunch.

Iron Chef Episode 2...

http://video.fc2.com/content/20121102TCCPYRBn%26__OLDPLAYER&usg=ALkJrhgAA4r0gUjq_nEmYrZjqJQ2ltD_rw

Guess it's gonna take some time to get used to the new Iron Chef's. When I saw Kenichi there, I thought he was going to take them on. I think it would be fun if the old Iron Chef's take on the new ones...

Tamaki was ok. Big shoes to fill....

Uchida Yuki looked mighty nice in this episode... Mr Green

This place is well regarded for its fresh fish. It has no ambiance to speak of it, but the fish is good and the chefs are convivial. Yes my foodie friend, I was certainly full!

The omakase didn't come with Uni & Ikura which, as you can see, I ordered because they are among my favorite.

I know, man. It's a bit sad when you have a spot that you enjoy and it disappears. I'm thinking you must have some choices left in your neck of the woods...it's just a matter of finding one that suits you. Smile

Is this restaurant on Wilshire in W.L.A.? I think I'll only be able to take one son at a time.... not all 3 in one visit. Beaten They love nigiri zushi and normally just eat sushi at buffets. Shameful Cry
