I've been looking for TRICK 1 for a while with subs but not had much luck. Recently I enquired about UNIQUE video at shop KTS Lab and if they had plans to subtitle TRICK 1 and 3. the response was unfortunatly this:
As far as we know, UNIQUE Video is not planning to release Trick 1 or Trick 3 in English Subtitle. The Trick 2 is a test product for them and they didn't sell much in English Speaking country. So this discourage them to publish any more English Subtitle unless they raise the price which is a risky move for them.
Another reason is that there are too many home made English Subtitle JP Drama on CD-R & DVD-R. They flooded the English Subtitle Customer Group. UNIQUE Video does not want risk again. There is a good reason why they decide to use Trick 2 as a test product in English Subtitle. The result is not satisfactory to them though.

Well there are korean dramas on ktsf I think but they're canto or mando dubbed. If you have Jade Channel they also have a lot but again canto dubbed on that channel. I guess I should try one out

I was going to buy Trick 1 dvds (released from another company..not unique but another one), and just replace the english subtitles in from the KSCI?? (LA, california station). Since all the timing is there already from the chinese subs, it'll be an easy thing to do.
Too bad they won't do anymore english subtitled dramas.
@bmwracer and eltinator:
i guess i shouldn't complain, atleast we have a couple of dramas that are even subbed in english...
know of any satellite companies that offer LA broadcasts??

Yeah! At least you have something It's more than we have here We don't have any Japanese shows on TV here at all. We have a couple Korean shows, but they are always the long-running soaps or the long-running historicals that all the other cities w/ kdrama have. We don't have the short dramas We've only had about 6 kdramas air here anyway, all were over 150 eps long each
I dunno if the population has anything to do with it either Here most Asians are Chinese, but we don't have anything but Chinese news on TV unless ya get the I-channel (my cable doesn't offer it). We just get Korean news, Korean long dramas, Chinese news, and music shows from India (which are REALLY cool!). Statistically my city doesn't have many Asians within the city limits....only about 5% overall. Even so, Vietnamese and Chinese dominate the Asian population here. 3rd in line are Koreans. So we don't have many Korean or Japanese residents officially, but we have a ton of Japanese and Korean students studying abroad at Temple and UPenn that live in the city but I don't think they count on the census.
Funny thing though, the station that airs kdramas here, they say they get feedback more from non-Asian viewers regarding their kdramas. They suspect most viewers aren't even Asian
