finished Queen's Classroom / Jyuu no Kyoushitsu

When i saw the cover, i thought it was gonna be an elite women high school with super-strict teachers that teaches manners. Turns out it was far from what i imagined.

This dorama kinda reminds me of Matilda... but without magical powers.

Shake Head i think it's gonna sound a bit stupid to some people.

Scary teachers are always pictured wearing black outfit, with the usual scary teacher hair, and shoes that makes her look like she has no taste? Rolling eyes . Even black umbrella !

This is so not a family dorama but it has kids in it. What the teacher says and does are so explicit. She has a hand knife in her pocket, she knows everything, she can do anything, she talked about one of the student's mother about the mother being a boy-crazy slut and abadoned the kid just to flirt for a random good-for-nothing man and about his father being a no good boozer crimanal who is now behind the bars... in front of the whole class!

The ending scene in each episode is so wrong. it really ruins the atmosphere

The thing that annoys me most, is that why did it have to be elementary school students? It would've been more appropriate if it was high school students. To be exact, junior high school students, if the producers are afraid it'd turn out Gokusen-like.

But of course on the other side of the coin, tha fact that it was about an elementary school just makes it become sweet. It would be too dark if it was in senior high school. and again, thank god it's not gokusen-like. But elementary kids? so not appropriate.

Despite all those annoying facts, Queen's Classroom is actually one hell of an entertaining show! The pace was fun, the plot was good, and it also has the addicting factor! No doubt about the acting! The Amami Yuki was so scary as if she's about to stab someone with a knife any moment. And the best thing is, for each episode, you always get this feeling like you wanna slap someone in the face! It's great. No wonder two specials was actually made to it.

This is so like putting Saddam Hussein as a kindergarten teacher.
might as well dress her up wearing a chain bra and holding a whip

8.5/10

another one worth watching! Applaud

The effect won't be the same applied to high school student, she won't have the control to build their mind at past teenager stage hehe

the ending song always swept me off my seat, every episode, it ruins the scary witch image completely Grumble

Maybe they were worried for Amami Yuki safety. Like she might get attacked in the supermarket or something. there are alot of crazy people out there Crazy So they make her nice smiling and dancing.

the teaching style IS extreme and if there was a
teacher like that she would have to have a camera
4every student in order to keep track of how the
students are taking to class in order to stop crazy
stuff Sweat

good thing this is just a drama!!

in real life tho understanding teachers like this (who are keen2students thoughts + who challenge systematically to improve students successfully) hav existed
this drama reminded me of the documentary"a class divided"
except what teacher did in it wasnt as extreme since it was only for 2days

took place after the assasination of martin luther king,
teacher wanted to show all white third graders what it
was like in
anothers shoes (ie blacks, minorities) and since words
could not communicate the feelings she tried a little
experiment...kind of like how Maya was using
psychological tests

heres a link:
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/divided/etc/view.html

i dont exactly recommend the teaching style since you have
to be pretty smart and caring enough to pull thru the process
successfully...otherwise....

I really enjoyed watching this series. And yes, while the teacher was brutal, I felt that maybe she was just being really honest. I mean, can we really think that elementary kids don't understand when their parents lie to them, or other people gossip about them or if their parent abandons them/runs away/whatever? Its just that we want to assume they're innocent and ignorant and so we don't say things. But children who go through such situations sometimes feel adults are even less untrustworthy simply because they never tell the truth.

So while she was extreme, I have to say that for that drama, and that situation, it was not so shocking. I really enjoyed the series and the acting by everyone (even the kids) was amazing!
