To digress a little,
If there was a thread "Dramas you thought were bad but turned out pretty good", i think bara no nai hanaya fits it. Started out typical but i love the twist in the show. Mr Green

Hmm, I thought Takoyama was going to start a thread for that...?

Yeah, it was a disappointment for me since I loved the anime, and the movie wasn't so bad. The drama, however, was borderline crappy with bad acting.

bad acting? im quite satisfied with the acting by Ikuta Toma but not the actress who acted hanamoto though.

I thought Over Time would be good, but, as I wrote in my review, it had a very weak plot and Takashi Sorimachi totally butchered it. Talk about sleepwalking throughout the entire thing. I read there were rumors that he and Esumi Makiko didn't get along on set, but even so he should at least make an effort to not seem so lifeless.

I cant remember the storyline of Over Time. Watched it when i was really young. but i do remember i quite like it at that time. Maybe time has changed.

Sad to say, but Kirakira Kenshui... Sweat

I REALLY wanted to like this drama, but the various stories were just awful... Manami-chan deserved much better than this. Puppy Dog Eyes

Is there a "JDramas you thought would be bad, but....'' thread?

I agree with your take - it wasn't terrible - it was just really disappointing.

Hachimitsu to Kuroba (Honey and Clover drama) definitely belongs on this thread. It was a really great, sweet, introspective anime about coming of age. The drama was really pretty weak and, at best, a poor adaptation with a great casting director.

I was a bit disappointed with Erai Tokoro ni Totsuide Shimatta!

It was Nakama Yukie, after all.. I know her husband was meant to be a bit of a mummy's boy, but he spoiled it for me Sad

Check it out for yourself... It's just my opinion. Smile

Juri-chan's and Eita's performances make it worth watching... Masami and Ryo's, not.
