It has a lot of canonical themes: pursue your dream, be true to yourself, look out for your buddies (nakama) ...

If I was a parent, I'd be afraid to let my kids watch most anime, but not this one.

Love the soundtrack too.

Exactly! The only black and white film I've watched is The Wizard of Oz.

one thing that intrigue me the most about One Piece is the in depth stories of the main characters. this cought my eye the most.
i realised that after they made into the Grand Line, the story revolves more about the 'fights'.

and i have to admit, the background of the whole story is one of a kind!
Eichiro Oda's idea [i think] really paid off!

wish i knew!

i usually buy malay-translated mangas back home in malaysia. they cost around RM4.50 the most.
RM1 = US$3.80
you do the math.
Wink

the only setback about these translated mangas are that they only release a new volume in an average 2 months.... Sweat

just learned that the current license owner of Legends of Galactic Heroes is planning to do a dvd us release of th eseries. They're planning to sell the complete edition - all 110 tv eps, 3 movies and 40+ ova eps for like $1900. Ouch. Way out of my budget...

Anyway, am starting uninhabited planet survive - first time i watch this kind of anime, pretty good so far.

Hey! First post!! Big Grin Great anime fan!
Currently watching: Fullmetal Alchemist and Chrono Crusade.
All-time favorites: Vandread, Love Hina, Kiddy Grade, Last Exile and Scrapped Princess.
About Fullmetal Alchemist (watched til ep. 25), great anime so far - songs are really good, so are the character voices too. (... and it has got nothing to do with fullmetal panic - also a very good anime).

nope.totally different.

well,if you like Full Metal Panic and you want more stories on their characters with no fighting at all[like shool life], then try watching it's sequel, Full Metal Panic Fumoffu.
it's hillarious!

Anyone into One Piece here? Big Grin

kids channels nowadays are so wonderful here. At my time, tv telecasts only very old animes series or 2-3years animes at odd hours (2am every monday). Now they get to watch one piece here every weekend and weekly chance of winning a ps2 set. Still got gameboy advance, game cartridge & x-box on other animes contest... wonder if they allow overaged kid to win one.... Big Grin
