I watched until now the first 3 episodes and I find it okay so far nothing really great but not bad either. The only thing I find is extremely annoying is this Tabe Mikako girls, she annoys, in her role, the hell out of me!! The story is not so funny so far but maybe it will become better.

i really enjoyed this story....if only the girl's (sorry, forgot her name) character is different, i guess i would have enjoyed this drama more. although i find her character different adding up to the uniqueness of the story (i mean, i have not seen a drama wherein the main lady has a bad(?) character), i still find her really annoying. in fact, there were times that i'm really tempted to forward some scenes because of her...nonetheless, i really learned a lot from this drama and enjoyed the drama (besides the fact that the two guys are from arashi!!!) it's light, interesting, and humorous drama which contains lessons about life as well...i don't think that watching this drama will be a waste of time...

Watch until 8 episode now. I kinda like Tabe Mikako as Ikegami Takako, don't know why. Even she annoy me in the beginning, but when the story goes on, I start to like his cutie face and her cute smile. Kawaii desu ne!

When Taro running back in rain, just to make sure his sisters and brothers fine at home. I touched with his expression at that time~~almost cry.

Sho..I didn't have much interest with him, but I love him as mimura Takuya. If I'm one of the girl in that class, I definitly will faint each time he smile or look at me

i'm not finish this dorama yet but currently i'm on ep 8 and i found that
this series is so much good.. everyone is really good in
their roles.. well, i'm expecting some good ending too...

I've just started watching this dorama. I really like it so far. Although what's wrong with tarou's mother? I really don't like her.. she's just a burden to her kids, spending money recklessly, crying like a baby etc.. She should take better care of her children! Poor tarou.. And all his siblings for that matter.

Sho-chan and Nino-chan looks so good together they could be a loveteam!!! *dies*

Hmm.. I don't really remember because it's kind of ages ago but I think the story's a bit different and there are more episodes than the Japanese version. I think both are funny~ I like Sho and Nino!! I don't care what people said about them not fitting their charachters~ They both can really act so well! Especially Nino!! Well done for both of them!! And everyone else too!! The ending was just satisfactory, maybe there's a second season? Just suggesting~hopefully there will be though.

i agreed on that. not only his mother, his father also. he travel around the world and it was taro that support his father financial. his father rather give the paintings instead of selling it. lucky, taro's siblings understand the situation and they are so cute especially Saburo.

Actually~ In the Taiwanese version, Taro's mom is more useless but yeah I agree that Taro's parents are the ones who should take care of their children, not just Taro! Anyway, that's how the story goes~ I like Taro's siblings too!! They're all cute!

Until it started getting near the end of the series, when you started seeing that they were much more complex than that. His father and mother are extremely devoted to each other and trust each other a lot, will listen to their children as equals, and give them values that are good life lessons. Despite the fact that they're stereotypical burdens (you can tell why they're in debt and in that mini house), there were redeeming qualities to them. Not to say his dad shouldn't own up and be doing some jobs as well besides wandering and painting, but then we wouldn't have reasons to scream at the TV to get their acts together.

Yeaaap there's as always a taiwanese version. I haven't seen this one because from my experience, the taiwanese versions tend to be... not at good as the japanese ones.. somehow..

Anyway, the name of the dorama is Poor Prince Taro, with Vic Zhou. It's funny though, because apparently it's from 2001, but at least I hadn't even heard of it until long after the japanese version was aired.. And from the looks of it, you didn't know of it either.. It's a shame.. I mean, even though I personally prefer the japanese versions, there are still lots of good twdoramas.

That's right! Vic Zhou is in the Taiwanese version of Yamada Taro and there's Ken, playing Taro's father. He's kind of young for playing a role as Taro's father but it's kind of funny that way~

Yea but Tarou's father in the japanese version is quite young too
