Then there're Hana Yori Dango, Glass Mask, Kindaichi series. Blackjack ni Yoroshiku and Salaryman Kintaro might also have their origins from mangas, although I'm not so sure

GTO, Gokusen, Sailor Moon, You're Under Arrest, Itazura na Kisu, Kimi wa Petto, and I believe Yamato Nadeshiko is also a manga. Those are all I can think of off the top of my head, but there are more.

Blackjack ni yoroshiku was a manga? Please don't tell me it has anything to do with the Tezuka Blackjack.

I don't think the manga and anime about Blackjack are related. Both doctor stuff I think, but I don't know if Blackjack ni Yoroshiku was based on it. It doesn't seem like it...

Blackjack ni yoroshiku is based on a best seeling manga. I read it bfor....i don't believe some part of the story....
kunimitsu matsuri is based on manga too.....i love that manga.
psychometer eiji....
Hotman and Antique too, are from manga. I've read the latter, and it's quite different from the drama version... they have to change quite a bit cos it's Yaoi. But most of the main characters in the manga came to life - Eiji the ex-boxer, Yusuke the talented chef...etc. Plot wise, some of that is taken from the manga, ie: like how Keiichiro was kidnapped when he was a kid.
Hmm, there's also 'Private Actress' 'Imagine', 'YASHA', and 'Happy Mania' I think...
On a related note, I noticed in the Gokusen dorama, there is a scene where Yankumi knocks a stack of books off her desk, and they do a brief close-up on them, and it's the Gokusen manga ^_^ Heheh!
