wah the amount of posts in one day is amazing... i get back from work and this is 3 pages!! Rolling eyes

yeah i'm rather lucky to be staying out... but life in NS will always suck no matter whether u stay out or not...

i don't find NS to be character building. Particulary NS in singapore. The SAF is the worst excuse for an organisation. Things in here are done so messed up and done so inefficiently. Most of the ppl who are high in rank are those who "suck up" to their superiors. There is alot of backstabbing, pushing of responsibility in the army... ppl always think of ways to push to fault on to others. And it always shows the good side to the mass public while hiding up its much much more darker side. Whenever i watch those national service advertisements on TV, i seriously feel like PUKING. Its the worse kind of hypocrisy i've seen in my life.

just an example... everyone knows about Sars right? When it became quite an issue, our camp decided to take every visitor's temperature. Sounds good? Well it does SOUND good. But beneath the surface there are alot of probs... eg.

1) we have only 1 thermometer which CONSTANTLY gives a very low reading for body temperature (eg 33-34 degress). Whats the point of taking temperature when it isnt accurate? We won't even know who has a fever even if we took their temperatures.

2) The ppl taking temperature at the entrance are NOT medics who have absolutely no medical experience or whatsoever.

3) We ran out of alcolhol wipes. but proceeded with temperature taking without it, by order of who eles but our Stupid Superior Whos A Primary Sch Educated Guy Who Got To His Current Rank Because He's Good At Sucking Up To His Bosses. So we take the temp of a guy... then take the temp of the next guy WITHOUT proper medical cleaning. If even one of the visitors had Sars... who knows how many others could have been infected through the thermomether this way...

This is just one small little thing out of many things...

Thus i HATE SAF and i HATE NS... because i'm really wasting my time here doing work which accomplishes nothing, doing it because is an ORDER, doing it just to show the ppl that we are doing SOMETHING...

kinda complaining to myself... hehe Bleah wah... typed so much... hehe sorry ah

All the posts about Kimura reminded me of my friend and her sister who saw him a few times when they went to Japan last year.

You guys seem young. I feel old man. I'm currently doing sales and marketing in a Japanese company.
