Yatta! Ralph's been sending them 10 eps at a time. so it won't be long |
Right. The next batch goes out Monday. And then there will only be one more batch.... that's sad.... I'm really attached to this drama. It's grown on me much as Churasan did. But at least I will now have another super powerful drama to revisit. The triumverate of Atsu Hime, Churasan and Honma Mon are like the anchor giant store in a mall. All other dramas pale in their shadow.

They always seem to spread the last episode of a Taiga over two shows... Probably because the last episode is typically more than an hour and they can't allocate more time from the broadcast station...

I thought Atsuhime has been an interesting taiga drama, it's nice to have something different once in a while. |
Any thoughts on why they seem to like t he 16th century?

As the previous poster pointed out, the Sengoku-jidai (Warring States period which lasted from around 1478 to 1603) was one of the most dynamic and turbulent periods in Japan. It was an era of constant conflict involving many of the most charismatic and famous warlords in Japanese history. As such, it is rich with larger-than-life characters, countless battles, and Machiavellian-type politics. It only ended when Tokugawa Ieyasu consolidated power, became shogun, and ushered in the Edo period.

We appreciate all the hard work, too, Ralph. _________________

I figured as much, that it was the most turbulent (and most romantic?) period in Japan's history...

I enjoy sharing such a great drama. Be aware that since they split the last episode, the packages
wont go out until next Monday. Next Sat is the last half of the last episode.
