Just got done downloading the Episode 2 raw, and I'll take a look at it in a bit. With all the spoilers already posted, I'm a bit late to the show hehe. Regardless I'm eager to see where Ruka goes with that last scene of the first episode, or at the very least Ruka's background is delved into.
lol, well I watched the first episode last night (okay it was more like 4 in the morning but I'd say it was worth it). There was the karaoke obviously and the obligatory comments with Kioku's subs. I found most of them to be unnecessary like yen conversions to dollar (first time I've seen that before actually) and the use of "-san". There were a comments that were informative as I didn't know some locations or a certain food but it definitely wasn't vital to the story. Seems like they are subbing for the new jdrama watchers who know nothing about Japanese culture.
Anyway, I'd say the first episode of Last Friends was decent to good. About halfway in I wasn't seeing why it was so freaking awesome. It did get better towards the end though. I will admit I was surprised by the last scene but not as much as people have been saying. I guess just cause I've been expecting something way more shocking. I thought everyone played their parts well. Juri of course did a fantastic job and Masami was decent as well. I liked Ryo's scenes and am looking forward to see how everything plays out with him since he adds some spice to the drama with his role. The relationship between Ruka and Michiru didn't grasp me as much as I thought it would. I wonder if I went into the episode with too high of expectations?
Overall... looking forward to next episode

or I'm gonna have to go to Japan and kick his sorry little woman-abusing girly ass.
Come, now. I think we should be happy that FOR ONCE a JE-kid outside the older groups actually can act his role
(I want to beat up the hopeless cause in Hokaben, because he is just so bad)
I'm enjoying this drama, and I hope they will start to unveil the plot now a little, and give some backgrounds.
Starting to get anxious here ^^ _________________

Pretty much in line with my own review. I think that it was easy to feel a little overhype from our community here. I too look forward to seeing the 2nd episode to forming a better opinion _________________

Thank goodness... I started on this show without much high expectation (after all the disappointment in last season)... initially I thought it was just any other normal 'friendship' kinda of drama, but it was more engaging than I thought it to be. Just watched episode 2 last night, and it did get me anxious to watch out for the 3rd episode. But then I am not keeping my hopes too high... some dramas just start falling apart mid way through..

That's a great screengrab of Juri.. She's really cute in that picture. _________________

He's done that quite a bit over the years: Calbee CM, Orange Days, Summer Time Machine Blues, Nodame....
Talk about riding on others' coattails.
Before all the Eita fangirls come after me, just note I'm just kidding. I know how vehement, er, passionate fan girls and boys can get. I figure I'd throw in this disclaimer to avoid an early death. I just find it a bit amusing this guy is in quite a few dramas with Juri-chan.

Sadly, Eita was not able to catch up to Juri-chan due to the sheer weight of hair gel needed to keep his hair up and the wind resistance his hair caused.
