Just finished watching Mawang. It was brilliant.
It boggles my mind how would the Japanese be able to make this their own, compressing it into an 11 episode serial, and to be as exceptional as the original. I hope they won't be making Ohno or Toma as the scapegoats if things doesn't turn out as fabulous . Still waiting for it with bated breath.
Ohno lost 10kg for the role? O.O
Maybe its 10lbs (5kg) would be more logical.
I definitely can imagine Toma as the detective like Uhm Tae-woong in Mawang but Ohno... he'll be different from JJH portrayal I think.

I loved the Korean version as well. All three actors for the principal characters were wonderful. As much as I love Ohno and Toma, it's going to be hard to not compare them to Uhm Tae-wong and Joo Ji-hoon. Even though it will be interesting to see this version, I'm a little scared about how they will do it.
Oh well, I'm still anticipating watching this series. _________________

It's especially hard for us who have seen the original. Mawang was so good! The script, music, actors, the setting was done immaculately.
Ohno & Toma are after all fairly new to drama, so its kind of weird for them to be casted in this remake of one of the best serious Korean drama that I've ever seen. Both of them look too "young" for roles as mature as Seung Ha & Oh Soo. Its a conspiracy I tell you. They'll going to blame it at the Jyanis IF this doesn't work out (knock on wood). But we haven't really seen what they can do. They might just prove us wrong and I'm praying they will blow everyone away.
