i believe it would still apply to an agnostic. if you're an atheist, you could be looking up to the remnants of the Big Bang. Mr Green Victory! Peace!

Aren't those the typical poses you make during a Shakespearean soliloquy?

A soliloquy is a solo act. A monologue delivered when the actor or actress is alone on stage.

And those poses (and that's what they are) haven't been acceptable since the mid 19th century.

Gee, corny cliches, I've never seen one of those before. Wink
It's more of a testament to the rest of the dorama that this is the only segment that sticks in our craw.

Isn't "taiga dorama" something that is specific to NHK's yearly show? It's kind of interesting to see the national network teaching people about their history, probably analogous to a Ken Burns project.

I think the word "taiga" was coined by NHK and is actually copyrighted to them. Same as "asadora"

Sometimes there is a relationship chart with each taiga, although it's written in Japanese.

I think the show has finally 'jumped the shark' in ep. 13, although IMO it has never reached any lofty (or even acceptable) levels let alone the level comparable to Fuurin Kazan. I can't believe seeing

There're other taiga's that did weird things like 'breaking the fourth wall' but I've never seen anything this bizarre. This taiga is now officially rubbish in my books.

I really liked the selection of actors - one of the most pleasing group I've seen in years. Few dorama have such an intimacy with its characters and story.

It may be my imagination, but do some of the scenes seem a little tacky? Sometimes, you'll see cheap special effects, or the main character will find himself on an obvious sound stage with theatrical lighting.

I'm not sure if I'll continue watching this.

I've seen that in other Taigas as well... You wince a little, then move on.

Hopefully. Sweat

It doesn't help that the names of the 3 main characters are Kanetsugu, Kagekatsu, and Kagetora Nut But, up to episode 11 still holding my interest.

at least the hairpieces are glued on and blended properly (for now, who knows about later). I remember one where you could clearly see edge of the latex hairpiece and it was lifting, and it made it to broadcast!

I was going nuts trying to figure out how Abe's adopted son could be Kagetora... until they finally mentioned that Abe's character had been named Kagetora earlier in his life, and he'd given the young guy that name after he changed his.

Kagetora was the character played by Gact in "Fuurin Kazan" and the time line was messing me up no end.
