I think so far, it's the best spring drama (I have not watched Majo Saiban and Mr Brain though).

I think Shiroi Haru is a lot more engaging than Mr. Brain.

Really really good drama... I don't see how anyone can watch this drama and not get choked up.

Not a whole lotta dialog from Abe Hiroshi and yet his performance was just terrific... He shows that acting is more than just dialog. Applaud And the little girl who played Sachi (name?) pretty much matched Abe performance-wise: you couldn't help but feel and root for her. Smile

I'm pretty sure the girl who played Shiori was the same girl who was basically catatonic throughout Love Shuffle... She was much more likable and animated Wink, that's for sure.

Overall, I'd give Shiroi Haru a 9/10... Highly recommended viewing.

her name is Nozomi Ohashi, she's also the one who sang Ponyo on The Cliff theme song (an anime by Hayao Miyazaki). I didn't know that she was an actress. I really love it every time she says "ojisan", it's so cute

yes, she's the same girl Mr Green , it took me some time to realize that she's the same girl in Love Shuffle. I like her in Shiroi Haru as her character is much more enjoyable to watch Mr Green

That's because the girl in Love Shuffle was a vegetable, a house plant. Beaten

yes. I can't remember an ep where i did not cry. Shameful Cry Shameful Cry Shameful Cry
speically Harou's teary eyes were always so emotional for me.
as for Shiori,
i too did not recognised her because of her heavy make up in shiroi Haru but have to say she was much more entertaining in here rather than Love Shuffle. pity her character was not developed well in the story. it could have been one of the best characters of this drama.

Yup... Of cousre, that's no surprise since her character was basically a cadaver in Love Shuffle. Beaten

Yeah, her character seemed to more of a plot obstacle than a true character... And why her character wasn't really involved in the end was a disappointment... Pity. Sweat

Yup, that was my one big complaint, the ending. In fact, if they'd left it a lot more open-ended they had enough material for a sequel. They could have developed Yoshitaka and Shiraishi's characters a lot more.

Some say that it's just copying Korean's typical plot. I know it's going to be a sad ending..but not that sad... ><

I'm totally unfamiliar with K-dramas.

lol, typical Korean plots are: Boy fall in love with girl, girl didn't know, relationship between them not clear and went back and forth. Then girl went off to a faraway place, girl realised she loved boy afterall, then came back, realised boy had cancer. Then everything is too late, boy died leaving girl behind.

Actually I am also not familiar with Korean dramas. Hardly watch them. I assume it's the dramatic plot that is making it look like Korean dramas.

^ That's not just Korean, that's a typical, cliched romantic plot... Beaten

I don't think this drama falls in that romance category, but it does follow the familiar plot of an ex-con who gets out of prison and yada, yada, yada...
