i found the drama actually better than i thouht it'd be ... i really liked kitagawa keiko during the first half of the drama, she made the whole show a bit special~ but yamashitas performance was just -NOT- good. he shouldn't play romantic dramas >_< everytime they kissed it looked like he had to force himself to do something really disgusting.
I love yamapi but I can't help but to agree on you... XD
the kiss is soo fake....

I recommend this for the romance, though don't expect much hardcourt action except for the 1st and last episodes. Everything in between is mostly training camp and scrimmage sessions, tsk.
The friendship-to-love formula is pretty much goof-proof, so even if it weren't YamaPi or Keiko as the leads, the romance would've been satisfying just the same. But the two DO have some chemistry, so that's a plus.
And if you've seen LONG VACATION (1996), then BUZZER BEAT will seem like an homage... A rather inferior homage, but the allusions to LV are undeniable.

super late but I was also expecting for more b-ball action but alas.... decent b-ball action was only for the last ep.... I love Keiko here (<3) and I loved their DON'T-TELL-ME-NOT-TO-SEE-YOU scene it was somewhat intense that tomohisa fell... (Lucky guy...) _________________
I love Buzzaer Beat so much !! the story is romantic and nice =) Keiko and Yamapi are so match to each other. I like both of them, hope that they will become a sweet couple in real life ^^

I really liked this one!
I had no clue this was a romance drama. I just thought it was going to be some type of entertaining drama as Yampi is the lead actor.
For me, not as many touching moments as some other recent dramas. However, Kitigawa-san had some good tearing moments and a beautiful smile in several scenes.
One very interesting part of the acting in this drama was the significant increase in open mouth kissing in at least three scenes. I'm so used to the dramas when they kiss with closed mouths and they are barely even touching. Arigatoo to the Director for being different. Maybe I haven's seen enough romance dramas but the kissing was definitely different in this one.
^ exactly!! This show is awesome if not only for the fact it has an actual kiss instead of just awkward pressing lips against eachother, or having it at an angle so you dont even see anything. _________________
^ LOL, is one actual kiss that significant to make a drama awesome?
omg yes. it totally is. Aside from the fact buzzer beat follows the typical formula of korean romcoms/dramas (and i think kdramas do romance better than jdrama most of the time) ... every time i watch that kiss ..... _________________

I hope drama writers, directors, and producers are taking note.
They should ! watching awkward kiss scenes just makes me feel awkward... when kiss scenes should be hott
It depends on the situation in the drama.
Also, you have to remember the culture: those kind of displays of affection are unusual to begin with... It's not like the U.S. where everyone's lip-locking as if they had magnets in their mouths.

Yeah i know, but still..... its just when you wait for a kiss, and it just ends upbeing stiff and weird.... its disappointing. At that point i'd just rather there be no kiss! I think buzzer beat did it right. a few other jdramas that have done kiss scenes well have done the angle thing so you dont actually see them locking lips, but its still majorly less awkward than the typical presslips kiss _________________
