Don't worry. I don't call bunk movies scarier than Ring. _________________

Yes..Sarah Michelle Gellar will play as the lead.
Ringu is scarier and original..Sadako you rock everyone's heart..definitely not in a good way.

Never seen #2. Was it that "lame"?!
#1 was pretty kooky though.

The problem with Ju-on is it saturated the film with its scare tactics so by the middle of the film it just doesn't become scary anymore but "oh look its happening...again".
I felt Ring was smarter because it scared you by the unknown. Your imagination can be the most scary thing ever if you let it fill in the blanks like Ring did. It didn't show you exactly what happened but just enough to creep you out and then really hit you hard at the climax because you didn't expect it.
Ring by a wide margin. Heck I will even say The Eye was much better done. |
Indeed.
Man . . . next thing you knoow, we'll be seeing an anti-Ju On (not so much pro-[i]Ringu[/u], but, I guess you can call it that too) block vote majority.

Just finished Ju-On, and yeah, it was quite a let down. I think my copy was missing things though, I didnt see the scene where the kid is under the blanket with the girl. While watching the movie, when a "scary" scene happened I kinda went "whoa", but then I just felt like laughing. Whats scary about cat sounds and a dumb kid with his mouth open?
I think Ringu is scarier, but its not even that scary. It was good until the well scene, then I just wasnt scared. I liked not knowing what it was and the well scene just made it weird.
Asian horror films just arent scary. I have watched all of the ones I have seen in the dark, all alone and I have never felt scared. Ringu and the Eye were both pretty good. But Ju-On was lame. Oh, Dark water and Kairo were stupid too. Serioulsy, who is afraid of a puddle? And why do Japanese people insist on going into a dark room when the door is open? Why are they utterly terrified of ghosts or monsters that crawl a whole 1/2 mile an hour? Seriously, it took ten minutes for the monster to get to the other side of the room to kill the guy in Kairo. Run away, its easy. And appearently masking tape on the door will keep the monster in, so its not that tough. *sigh* I am going to watch Audition again.

Are you insane? Asian horror films are the scariest as they go way too far with the visuals and the psychological stuff. What is scarier in your opinions then? Don't tell me American films, because they always make everything too dramatic.
