Ringu is scary and the best japanese horror
Ju-on was boring and not 100% scary, more like 1% Gurdge aka Ju-on remake was so much better (sorri if u prefer the orin) maybe coz it actully make you jump and better story LOL. Ju-on mirror remind me of ringu too much tho

i haven't seen either, and here's why: i keep getting conflicting comments about which is scarier/better, the jp versions or the american versions. i wanted to watch the scariest VERSION of the less-scarier MOVIE first. then watch the scariest version of the scariest movie next. (the other two versions i can always watch the next time.)
so, here's my questions:
1. which was scarier/better? 'the ring' or 'ringu'
2. which was scarier/better? 'the grudge' or 'ju-on'
thanks for any help you folks can provide.... |
it werid coz one jap version is better however the other movie the us version is good
Ringu is better then Ring
but Grudge is way better and scarier then Ju-on Ju-on was actully crap lol

I just saw Ju-on this weekend, so while it's fresh in my head let me say that it was just about as scary as your average music video.
What a huge disappointment!
Empty, vapid, dull, amateurish. What a waste of time.
Compared to Ringu? Well, Ringu wasn't scary either, but at least the acting was better.
The two scariest movies I've ever seen:
"The Exorcist" (I'm old. I saw it in the theater when it first came out, and it scared the beejesus out of me. And I was 19 or 20 at the time.)
And the scariest monster movie ever made... "Night of the Hunter". The 1955 original, directed by Charles Laughton, staring Robert Mitchum. No special effects. No rivers of blood. Just the scariest monster ever caught on film. And one of the best movies ever made.
Manny!
I'm with you. Stephen King's It is awesome. I've read everything he's written (except for the Dark Tower series) and "It" is by far my favorite.
Word of advice? Don't see the movies or the mini series. They stank. _________________ Manga is to Literature

I'm talking about the original "Ju-on"
The first one, in Japanese.
Not the remake Shimizu made with Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Hhaah, hey, there Geezer, happy holidays to ya'll's (bet ya'll's never thought you'd see a "happy holidays" greeting on a thread called "which do you find scarrier," hahaha) and to you also jholic, and to everyone else as well.
I heard those "Dark Tower" books are pretty good. I've only read It and that "dragon" book that he did (the latter, quite provocative for a medieval times book, ahem).
Thanks for the advice, then; if I get what you're saying then, yes, I DON'T need a watered-down version of that bone-chilling tale, muuuuuahhahaha!
Whaaaaa . . . I didn't even get around to seeing The Grudge (U.S.) either.
