Aren't they going to break the finale into two parts like they've typically done in the past with other Taiga dramas? Sweat

Yup, according to the program schedule on their website, it's in two parts so it won't completely end until 1/30.

And Go will probably start airing a week or two after that.

I dunno, the sched for 2/5 shows something called "Good Job" at 9pm. There's no Japanese drama with that name. Crazy

There is a Korean Drama called "Good Job" but I don't think that's it. That drama is 40 episodes long!!

There is a NHK drama called Good Job starring Matsushita Nao.

^ Thanks! Found it at Drama wiki, it's just not in our database. (Not yet, anyway)And at 5 episodes, that means GO should start on March 12th.

I guess 18.2 is getting on the Nao Matsushita bandwagon. Which is not necessarily a bad thing.

Edit: Ryomaden ended this past weekend. I was going to make a post about my general impressions, etc. but since it would just get lost in all the Juri fan-boying, there's really no point.

The post was last year, but luckily the links are still active. Thank you!

I started watching the Taiga last weekend. It's the first time I see this time period in a drama, so I find it very interesting. Big Grin

It's not bad. What I really liked was the supporting cast. Yoko Maki, Mitsuko Baisho, Shinobu Terajima, Teruyuki Kagawa, Nao Omori, Taizo Harada. Lot of real good actors there. Applaud

^ For the most part, the supporting cast was more interesting than the lead, Fukuyama Masaharu.

I'm at season 2. Quite liking it so far and some scenes are really good in term of tension and emotion - awesome soundtrack helps. Victory! Peace!
Fukuyama is ok, Ryoma is the one I don't quite get yet: I find him too exuberant. But reading a comment made me realize that he might be still young and not the 30+ that he looks. Taigas should start displaying the age of characters along with the names... Nut

Finished season 2: I'm loving it! And really appreciating the cinematography.
It's quite dark with blurry and blinding lights coming at strange angles. Everybody is dusty(*) and sweaty, when they cry they become an absolute mess. The camera is always placed inside the scene - sometimes with hand held camera and occasionally objects obscuring the view.

(*) As I understand from this article Juri-chan mentioned that when Fukuyama-san paid a visit to the new set, he commented at how nice and clean the costumes and the air were compared to the cornstarch filled Ryōmaden set. hehe

Maybe because Ryomaden was a male-driven drama, while Go is female-driven one. Mr Green

I was trolling for Japanese-themed t-shirts on eBay. Smile

Finished this Taiga! I really liked it.
Story, screen writing, cast, Fukuyama's offbeat Ryōma, camera work, music, cornstarch... I enjoyed everything. Mr Green

Omoshiroi:
This taiga: Ryōma died at the the Ōmiya (ߍ] / Ōmi pension)
Next Taiga: Gō will be born in the Ōmi (ߍ]) province.
