this is another overrated dorama (Gokusen2 comes to mind *shudders*).
childish ->*here*|retarded
i keep saying "Why are they saying yet doing all this crap?"
it does really get better when they actually do syncro swimming. it's a dorama about a group of boys doing syncro swmming, but the dorama shows them doing syncro swimming after >eps7!? +, it probably doesn't matter if you start watching from eps7 coz all you're gonna miss is how the five boys got together and some predictable cliche obsticles.
it's memorable, fun, and sweet, but really not addictive and too childish. i love the music and theme songs. and i have to say, the last episode was awsome. but it's just not my cup o tea

Finished Unfair. What can I say? Wonderful actors, trapped in a poorly written mystery.
Get a better writer for the next series and these actors, playing these characters, could knock it out of the ball park. But this time around I just don't think it was on the page to start with.
Under the heading of... I just can't help myself!!!
I've been sneaking peeks of "Jikou Keisatsu 2" ("Statute of Limitations Police 2") as I download it, and even without sub titles this is the funniest show I've seen in years. -- okay, for sneaking peeks, read: I watch the whole episode as soon as I get it. --
If you liked "Kui-Tan" all I can say is, "Jikou Keisatsu" is better. Funnier. Faster. (No food, but a lot more laughs, and better mysteries.)
The premise is that a cop in the records division decides, at the urging of his workmates, that he needs a hobby. It could be anything from flying kites, to collecting stamps, to solving the cases he's processing the paperwork for as they go past the Statute of Limitations.
He choses to solve the cases. He puts no one in jail. He arrests no one. The statute of limitations has run out. It's just a matter of solving the puzzles. And it's great.
Odagiri Joe has created a fabulous nerdy detective. And Asou Kumiko is the funniest assistant that ever stepped in front of a TV camera.
It's killing me that no one has subbed this show yet, and I have no idea if it will ever happen. But even without the subs, I'm having a great time with the second season.
It probably helps that I watched the first season and the subs for that one were dang good. _________________

There are Chinese subs for this drama, and yes - it's damned funny.
Ep 7 Last Christmas. So far so good. This is the lighthearted (so far) comedy romance that I truly enjoy. I think I have a new love - Yada Akiko.... what a doll. I guess she was in Friends also although I can't recall her in that. Despite all the Kyoko Fukada detractors, when I see Kyoko in a drama I'm simply blind to any others. But from now on my eyes will be open for Akiko. Yippee....

Aye she's a doll, but word has it that none of the tv stations want to cast her in dramas after she married Manabu Oshio. So it might be quite some time before we see Akiko on screens.
I'm currently watching Densha Otoko and so far its been pretty good. I dont think its going to be one of my favorites, but I'll never know until I finish the series.

Drama Wiki offers two translations for "Jikou Keisatsu" .
Either "Time Limit Detective" or "Statute of Limitation Police"
Time limit Detective makes it sound like the detective is on a time limit, which in this case is wrong. And Statute of Limitation Police makes it sound like it's a division inside the police department.
I think the best translation would probably be: "Statute of Limitations Detective" but what do I know.
Anyway... Thanks to the mad hard-subber down south, I just started watching "Himitsu no Hanazono".
Finished Last Christmas. A delightfully light comedy romance. Perfect for relaxed watching. Oda Yuji and Yada Akiko , my newest love, did a great job in their respective roles.
Fun to see old friends appearing here and there. First of course Ihara Tsuyoshi who was the smitten suitor in Star No Koi and he generally plays the loser.
It took me a while to recall where I had seen Sakurai Sachiko... how could I forget... older Aki in Crying Out Love and a two or three episode appearance in the asadora Kokoro.
Click on button to reveal/hide spoiler:
Yippee.... although towards the end I was worried, the writer apparently overcame his innate predeliction towards as miserable as possible an end, and gave us "Happy Ending" . I know it must have been difficult to leave us feeling good instead of the usual depression so inherent in Japanese dramas and movies.
He did manage to make me cringe in fear that he was going to let Yuki die, well imagine my surprise that he actually allowed her to recover. Whooppee....
Now don't all you depression seekers admit that this is so much more pleasant an ending than Summer Snow for instance?

Omg, I just saw a lady pass by my office with a couple of pineapples! Perhaps I should've persuaded her to give me one so I could send it your way. ...
I always welcome fresh fruits. Don't mind if I eat it instead? Over here tropical fruits don't taste as good.
Watching Tokyo Tower. Weird, I was sure Ryoko Hirosue was in it, but she isn't. _________________
