By the way... in case you hadn't noticed, Ryoko will be appearing in a TV movie titled Hoshi Hitotsu no Yoru with Ken Watanabe.
The movie is set to air on May 25th.
Of course I'll take Ryoko chan anyway I can get her....
Thanks for the heads up. I hope it will be broadcast here in southern cal.
lately Fuji TV has been acting very strange with us...cancelling a lot of programs. I know they will no longer show any Eng sub dramas. So even if it broadcasts here it will not have subs. But that's fine with me I can just stare at Ryoko.... eventually someone will supply the subs.

I finished "Himitsu no Hanazono" last night, and I'm really kind of annoyed that I won't have another episode of it to watch tonight, so I guess it's safe to say that I really enjoyed it.
It's a light romantic comedy. It didn't make me cry, and it didn't make me roll on the floor with uncontrollable laughter. But it made me happy, it kept a smile on my face for 11 episodes, and it kept me interested in the little mystery it set up for itself.
Most romantic comedies focus on the will they or won't they get together thing.
There was an aspect of that here, but there was also the mystery of the "real" secret of Hanazono. As I say, it kept me interested. And the ending was very satisfying.
As to the cast... Shaku Yumiko was the lead. And she was... okay, she was adorable. But there was more there this time. She's learning the lessons of comedy and she produced a few scenes where there was more there than just a sexy girl. There were the first signs of a budding goofball.
And as comic relief within the comedy, there was Maya Miki who surprised the heck out of me. She normally plays these serious, middle aged women. But here... she got to be something of a ditz, and she's a heck of a ditz. _________________
Pride episode 6. Enjoy it a lot plus the theme song from Queen ("Born to Love You", if I'm not mistaken) is really fit the film.
I have to admit that Takuya is a very cool guy, no matter many people said he always act as a cool guy in every dorama.
Pride is one of my all-time fav dramas. I think Kimura has the best chemistry with Takeuchi. I'm glad you're enjoying it so far!

Let's see, , , you finished Good Luck about 17 seconds ago, and now you're starting another drama. Does the term "take a break" appear anywhere in your schedule?
Schedule? What's that?

That was after watching about a million eps of Honnaman Wyn-chan is a drama watching machine! She watched Honnamon and Good Luck after I finished Nodame, and in that time i've watched 3 eps of Unfair
It takes me, on average with work, a little under a week to finish one drama. Honmamon took me nearly a month! I'm trying to deplete my watch list so I can add more.

You will see my beloved Kuninaka Ryoko in an entirely different role. I'm not sure I like seeing her like this.
Like what? The geeky nerdy type? I think she's charming so far!

One of the performances I really like was Sawa Suzuki as Akesato (Yamami's girlfriend) boy she was good! It's hard to act like someone that's not real bright, but she really pulled it off, especially when you realized, she wasn't so dumb after all. The other reason I like Shinsengumi is because, unlike most Taiga dramas, you're not spending half your time trying to work your way thru some convoluted family tree, with half-brothers, and multiple wives, and who's related to who!

oh yeah, so true. too bad her part wasn't that much due to what happened to Yamami, it was interesting to see those two's love life in the dorama though.
i'm hooked to Yamamoto Koji after watching Kareinaru Ichizoku and Shinsengumi in a row. i find it amazing how he can play a role where the character pictures himself as a bad guy but actually isn't a bud guy afterall, in both Shinsengumi and Kareinaru Ichizoku
i have to check more of his doramas _________________

Me too, but unfortunatelly I can not watched the last 10 minutes of the final episode because there is trouble with the DVD I guessed.
It is really annoying that I already watched the last 5 episodes in a row (until 3 AM) and I do not know the end of the story.
I am really curious right now, can anyone tell me the story after Halu was hospitalized after beating Green Monster, and then Aki came and ........ my DVD screwed up.
