I just got a copy of Yamaguchi Tomoko's "Sweet Home" the 1994 follow up to 1993's "Double Kitchen".
It's not a sequal, but it's the same kind of domestic comedy.
"D.K." newlyweds living in the apartment above the husband's parents, and the battles between the bride (Tomoko) and her imperious pain in the butt Mother-in-law, played by Nogiwa Yoko.
"S.H." is about the parents of a 4 year old falling into the competition with other parents as to which of their kids will be more successful. And who is willing to do more for their kids. Nogiwa (who also plays the Mom in Trick) plays the imperious, pain in the butt Cram School Teacher.

I remember Double Kitchen rerunning during the day while i was in Japan. If only I'd known what it was and had a VCR Oh well, couldn't do anything I guess
How was the quality of those two series, Geez? Were they capped to DVD or just tapes?

I think Geez mentioned on another thread that they were tapes... I caught the show a ways back but only taped episodes 7-11... I'll transfer them to DVD someday for Geez.
And I just shipped Geez Tokyo Elevator Girl (missing episode 1, though ), starring a very young and very kawaii Miyazawa Rie... Picture quality is a B at best...

I thought Rena-san was fine. She's only there for a couple of episodes as a guest actor. She plays a patient of the doctor character.
She must have been like 19 when she did Over Time. By now she must have grown into a beautiful woman. Wow, what beauty... those eyes of Rena's.
