It's probably just because I have a particular affection for the shows from the 90's. I like the style, the story, the music, and the people.

It's also wonderful, at least for me, to get to enjoy a Takako Tokiwa show again. (Tokiwa had been a major favorite of mine until I saw Meguri Ai. That show was so bad, I couldn't watch Tokiwa in anyting for a very long time.)

I doubt it, don't get your hopes up.....do you think those actors/actresses want to keep reprising those roles, from a professional point of view. It seems unlikely.

As with most doramas based on mangas...I don't think the goal is trying to cover the entire universe of events as they relate to the original source material.

You're welcome! And I hope there won't be another HYD. I didn't think that the second season was all that great. It just seemed like they were grasping for ideas to make it an 11 episode drama, and it just came out to be more frustrating than fun, imo.

Just finished Erai Tokoro ni Totsuide Shimatta. Yet another mother-in-law/daughter-in-law series, this one has some humorous scenes but is saddled with a cliche-ridden script and irritating, wince-inducing acting by some of the cast. Yuki Nakama works really hard in this dorama, but her decent performance can only take this lightweight comedy so far. Nakama, as others have noted, has a penchant for comedy; perhaps one day she will finally be able to act in a well written one (sorry, Gokusen and Trick fans). The best performance in this series is by Mari Hamada, who is always entertaining to watch.
