Just finished Omiai Kekkon. Old school nostagia. Funny romantic comedy about 3 women and 3 men. Matsu Takako really brings a lot of laughs here as well as her female sidekicks and male counterparts. A solid example of what dramas used to often be.
Oh yeah, many thanks to Geezer for supplying the discs. I'm grateful.

And Gokusen 3 is a solid example of what dramas are today.
It got horrible ratings which I don't understand at all.
actually... I kinda do
the first two episodes were slow as hell. and yeah, it is kinda boring . shouldn't there be like more trickery and sadistic stuff? the 'negative' Yoshio parts were really good though _________________
Just started watching Ryokiteki na Kanojo. I really liked the Korean version but still not sure what to make of this one. Needless to say, I plan on finishing it and will hopefully have a stronger opinion of it when I am done. _________________

I'm glad you enjoyed "Omiai Kekkon". I figured you would. It was a terrific show.
Re: Ashita no Kita Yoshio . Three episodes in, about three and a half hours away from getting to watch #4. And I can't wait.
Gaijinmark. Doesn't Manami always seem like the least interesting character in every show she does?
I also just finished Mop Girl. I didn't like the noises coming from the subbing group so I broke down and bought a retail copy. The Subs were of course EngRish... but they were good enough o get me through the rest of the series.
This was just a good little show. A touch of time travel. A likable 21 year old ditz deciding other people's fate. And as I said before... probably Shosuke Tanihara's best role to date.

With the exception of Tentai Kanzoku and Hotman you may have a valid point. Re: Mop Girl don't forget about all the goofy co-workers at the funeral place.

The supporting players from "Mop Girl".
I've always thought Jiro Sato was one of the most under used talents on Japanese TV.
But the character that's gonna stick with me for a while is Shouko Ikezu's Miki, the middle aged Bubble Girl. She reminded me of the stories of the Flappers who hit their 40s and just couldn't quite let it go. (I read a lot of Wodehouse.) _________________
