I would suggest you stop now...Narumi Riko is an excellent young actress... but if you've been spoiled by Hagu in the anime or movie, you will not be happy going forward... _________________

Good luck with the drama Aoi Yuu was so adorable as Hagu...in fact, I thought the movie had a superior overall cast with Ryo Kase, Iseya Yuusuke etc, than the drama.
I watched the first 2 episodes of Kekkon Dekinai Otoko. Quite amusing so far, I like the subtle humor. And Abe's character reminds me so much of my dear 40-year-old single uncle!

I'm with cori. "Love Complex" is kind of cool. I think it's the dorama David Lynch might have made if he lived in Japan.
But "Overtime" rules.
As to "Yoshitsune" & "Atsuhime"
"Yoshitsune's" problem was that it was made on the cheap when NHK was going through some big time money problems. That and the fact that the lead character couldn't act his way out of a paper bag.
"Atsuhime" is just a monumental bore. A rather dull story that could have been told, in its entirety, in a one shot made-for-TV movie... stretched, padded, and dragged out to fill 49 or 50 hour long episodes. _________________

just watched episode1 of Hachikuro drama with subs. Overall the cast fits the characters pretty well except for Narimiya (stuck out like a sore thumb). Riko is lovely but she's no Aoi Yuu. Toma is a good Takemoto and resembles the anime version more than Sakurai in the movie (but Sho gave a lovely, slightly different interpretation of the character but I'm not complaining though ). I don't think I will continue because I almost doze off watching it and I predict I won't like it as much either.

No kidding. A third of the episodes could have been condensed into a 3 minute montage to music that would have made the series exponentially less boring. Coincidentally, the story has been done before in 11 episodes in Ooku-The Final Chapter. Except there, they actually had drama, depth, personalities in the characters, story flow, and writing above the Hannah Montana level.

Finally finished encoding Kimi Hannin Janai Yo Ne?... Guess I should watch it...
No. You should be like me and author stuff to DVD and let it collect dust.
On topic: watched an episode of Atsuhime. Can't remember the number of the ep, but it was the one where the crazy shogun kept on screaming "Urusai, urusai, urusai...!!!!" _________________

Watched 4 and 5 of Long Vacation yesterday.. I'm liking the role they're putting the "older model" in a lot more, but I don't seem to care about any of the things they want me to care about.. _________________

finished koori no sekai (ice world)......quite a chilling mystery dorama....reminds me somewhat of sleeping forest.......great acting by all of the characters....only flaw was at the end..
starts off a bit slow but once you get into it, it'll start hooking you in

how can you put someone in a body bag before you verify whether he's alive or dead???

Just watched The Last Song episode 1
Wow. I think it's pretty much a must-see for anyone who like serious, thought-provoking drama. At least episode 1. I read that it may be hard to stomach later on in the series.
Episode 1 was also quite funny and amusing at times too. The guy who played the professor was great, and I really like Sakai Maki and Hirosue Ryoko in this as well. Music fits well, good storytelling and great writing.

Where did you find this drama? It's one of the dramas that I've been looking for for a while now. _________________

Watched 6 and 7 of Long Vacation today... it's gotten a lot better. The end of episode 6 was a really neat turn in the story. I really think Tomoko is stealing the show here!
Also, Minami's friend Momoko (Koishikawa Momoko) has become a really neat character - the unexpected voice of reason and bluntness. It's kind of an interesting vehicle for character interaction, if a strange personality _________________

Watched the first episode of Himitsu no Hanazono tonight...it's interesting, I'll give it that. Don't know what to make of it just yet, but it should be something easy to watch until I decide on a comedy airing this summer!
I'll be watching Lotto 2 tomorrow...try to determine just how it lost over 50% of its audience (poor Sorimachi!).
