Only the first five episodes have been properly subbed, but since I didn't think I'd care for it much, I figured I'd buzz through the 5 episodes I had, and just move on.
After all, it's just another show about how the old traditional ways are best. The modern world with its outside influences... sucks. Isn't well made food better than sex. And of course... there's a little love story.
I assumed I'd be tired of it by the 5th episode... but son of a gun, they double crossed me! I really enjoyed those first five episodes... and I want to see more!!!
Man! Never start watching a show before the subs are complete!

The hardsubs are available. I already authored it to DVD and can send you a copy if you want. The only thing is that the subs are in pink. _________________

Started LIFE, now up to episode three. I knew this was going to be dark, but the second episode was something else. Great direction and music.
Just watched the first episode of Jikou Keisatsu, which was hilarious. I had to stop the recording on a couple of occasions as I was laughing so much. Wonderfully quirky and absurd.

Glad you're loving Osen. One of the best food related / Japanese culture drama. Aoi Yuu is an added bonus.

I watched Ryuusei no Kizuna ep 1 with subs. It was good for what it was, even though I was hoping for something darker. I really liked Tiger and Dragon and Ikebukuro West Gate Park, but this didn't have that magic for me (and Mirai Koshi Meguru, won't talk about that). Maybe it's because the actors were sub-par? Nino was really good though. His haircut made him so smexy. _________________
I just finished the 3rd episode of Shinsengumi. I actually laughed out loud when Tanaka Kunie's character tells Nogiwa Yoko's character that HE'S the man of the house and that she must do as he says.

My favorite is the bed head
So skinny though..
The problem with the first episode was...

Kudokan style not meshing up just yet with Higashino original but I think it'll improve as the story goes on. I think he toned down the Kudokan factor (I'm wishing for his regular cast to make an appearance.. Sato Ryuta perhaps? or that guy who played Uuchi.). Besides Nino, I'm loving the other cast members performance. I like Toda as the spunky, pouty Shii and hopefully Ryo will be much more an idiot in this.

Sad that i didn't to get to finish watching Kitagawa Keiko in Mop Girl...so i'm hopping i get the chance to watch her in this.
Also, i think Oda Yuji is pretty good too ^___^
recognized a couple of faces of the actors from Hana Kimi drama...so hopefully they'll put up a good performance in this one too.
*i think imma have to make a trade with someone pretty soon to get some dramas* XD _________________

You said it.
And Season 2 continues the wackiness.
It (Jikou Keisatsu) was picked at random from my ever growing "to try" list (112 dramas at the moment), and it was an excellent choice. I'm still smiling about it now.
Another random choice which has also come good is Haikei, Chichiue-sama. I wasn't too impressed by the first episode, it made me think it was going to be just a restaurant/food drama, but the second episode proved me wrong. It was superb and had a real depth and subtlety, and served as an excellent insight into the more traditional side of Japanese culture.

Episode 1 of Pandorahttp://www.jdorama.com/drama.1277.htm It has some VERY engrishy subs but it seems pretty good so far. Hiroshi Mikami is good as the research doctor so wrapped up in his work he can't see anything else and Toshiro Yanagiba (Odoru Daisasoussen) as a homicide detective, this guy was born to play a cop. Plus you've got Tony Bennett singing "The Good Life" for a theme song, can't beat that.
Edit: I forgot to mention why I started watching it. Manami's in it, playing a doctor, (again)
Looks like I've gotta run 'em through the ol' spell/grammar checker.
