Maybe you compare personalities rather than looks.
Lol, I tend to compare celebsL faces to animals, which is worse. For instance Toda Erika looks to me like a friendly rabbit, Oguri Shun like a squirrel (albeit a giant one), Tanihara Shosuke like a hamster etc I guess ILll be killed

You guys are so weird.
I wanted to watch the Hana Kimi special but I gotta go to work and then study for midterms after. _________________

I take it that you're watching this raw, ne?
I'm watching it with some VERY engrishy subs. For example, the main characters name is Suzuki and the subber calls him Lingmu, but between their fractured subs and my fractured Japanese, I've got a pretty good idea of what's going on.

Aside from them both being guys, no.
And Clay outed himself recently, ne?
Well that guy looks pretty feminine too, which is probably why I thought that they resembled each other. Maybe he and Clay should hook up. I guess I'm just weird for seeing all these celeb resemblances.
Anyway, on topic: Watched Gonzo up to episode 7. I really loved that backstory about his past. Very touching stuff. It would be great if this was a novel because it would be a great read, I think. Also watched up to episode 5 of Brother Beat. I'm liking this drama too. And I get why it's called "Brother Beat" since they seem to be beating each other up in every episode. _________________

That was my one complaint about that drama. I'd sit there thinking, "OK guys, let's get the fight scene over with so we can get on with the rest of the drama."

I LUFFED the fight scenes...
Okay but really, I really enjoyed Brother Beat. It's one of my all time favourites.

Aoi Tokugawa episode 2 - I have, to be honest, difficulties to follow with the wealth of information I was given and I mix up the different war lords. But I am far from losing interest
ROOKIES - going very slowly with this one. It's a pain! Seriously.. Apart from the as always adorable Sato Ryuta, and Nakao Akiyoshi, none of the other main characters can act very well.. It's too cheesy, too repetitive and I just want it to end
Trick - Almost finished. Actually, I was rather looking forward to this one, as I've heard nothing but excellent reviews on it, and I've waited for a long time to watch it, but I'm slightly disappointed. It's not bad! It's just.. not as good as I thought it would be. And the quality..! Come on! It's from 2000, it looks like early 90s! But like I said, it's not bad. I enjoy it.

We watched a documentary about the Takarazuka theater (an all-woman theater) in my Women in Japanese History class today. Maya Miki was featured in it. She played a male and seemed to stay in character even when not performing. Since it was from the early 90s, the fashions were of course already horrible enough. It was funny because in the beginning I remembered I had seen a clip of her on youtube in one of the performances. Then right after I thought that, they introduced her. Hahahaha. She looks much better now.
So relieved to get my midterm over with, just watched Bloody Monday ep 3. I thought I would hate this show but I'm really loving it, no matter how unrealistic it really is. And now starting Celeb to Binbo Taro ep 2. _________________

I agree. But at least the fight scenes weren't that long.

The fight scenes were ok at first, but they got tiring after a while.
On topic: Watched episode 9 of Gonzo today. Hyoten 2001, episode 6 last night. Will probably watch an episode of Dragon Zakura and Yaou tonight. _________________

The first few episodes overwhelm you with historical characters and events. But gradually the series becomes more intimate, and the focus is on the principal characters. The clever prologues will aid you in understanding the story from an historical context. Because this Taiga focuses on an important, well known era of Japanese history, I think it's assumed the audience knows a lot about that time period and the historical figures who populate it. Hang in there, and you will not be disappointed.
