Currently watching "Tiger & Dragon" & "Anego"

I think I like "Tiger & Dragon" better. Okada & Nagase make a good combination. I enjoyed them together in D x D too!

Yeah, Manabu was quite good, but Yuka?

I couldn't root for her. Sweat

Right now I'm watching "Ai wo kudasai" (Please Give Me Love), staring Miho Kanno.

And to be honest... I should just hate it.

It is depressing. It is overly earnest. And there is so much whining, and depression, and self-serving weepiness in this thing that I should have thrown it out the window by episode 4.

Not to mention the song. The Song. One of the show's center pieces is this stupid song, which she sings in every episode, and which is used as the theme song for the show.

It's the sort of thing that usually makes me grab for my fast forward button to speed through it before the fillings in my teeth explode.

But for some reason, I'm still watching. I've seen 8 episodes, and I'm still interested in seeing what happens to this girl. (Okay, I do fast forward through the song each time it rears its ugly head, but I'm still watching the show.)

I guess I put it all on Miho Kanno's performance.

Despide the character's constant, and I do mean constant moaning about how lonely she is, and how she's suffered through her life, and how no one knows how rough it's been for her--- jeez, girlie, everyone knows how you've suffered, how rough it's been on you, and how lonely you are, because you tell everyone you meet in every freakin' episode!!! --- I still want to know how things turn out for her. Wierd as it seems, I'm still pulling for her.

I have to think it's because it's Kanno. Off the top of my head, I can't think of any other actress who could have pulled it off.

4 episodes left. I wonder if I'll still be a Kanno fan by the end?

Yikes.

Sounds like a train wreck you can't stop staring at.

I think I'll pass on this drama.

BMW

Hmm... The odd thing is, I don't know if I'm trying to warn people off this one, or saying that as a "train wreck" this is one you have to keep watching.

From your description, it sounds like it's strictly for hardcore Miho Kanno fans...

BMW

For the hardcore Miho Kanno fans, of which I am one.

Or fans of tear jerker melodrama. One of which I am not.

This show is much much better than Refrain, or Tokyo Bay... but it goes way over the top, for my tastes.

I want to say that there was just no joy in watching this show. But I know for a fact that there are a lot of people who just eat this stuff up with a spoon.

Once again, I'll pass.

Don't really like tear-jerkers... I find 'em manipulative most of the time.

Currently watching Beautiful Life and just finished Kimi wa Petto yesterday. I have Pride as well but it just doesn't interest me as much.

P.S. I'm new to J-Dramas and just recently got into it. If anyone knows a couple of good J-Dramas, can you please send me a list of some and how/where you get it by messaging me? I would really appreciate it. w00t!
