How come you haven't seen the SP yet?! I was dying to find out what became of her father by the end of the series. Have you seen the movie?

No. The subs for the Special came out a long time after the series & movie, and by that time I was in the middle of watching something else... I sorta forgot about it. Maybe after Kita no kuni kara...

Grand. I had to be careful with which drama I watched after Kita no Kuni Kara. Because it was so great, any drama after it could only suck in comparison.

On Topic: Nearly done the Unfair SP. I'm glad Hasumi is still kicking. w00t!

Was Engine out before Swing Girls?

On Topic: Finished Unfair SP. I had the feeling it would turn out the way it did while watching the series. I'll watch the movie tomorrow. It's nearly bedtime, which means I'll be working on finishing Star no Koi.

Swing Girls came out in '04, Engine in '05. Which makes me wonder why Juri didn't get a bigger role in Engine? Head Scratch

Her role was the biggest amongst the kids. Probably because she's much younger than KimuTaku, and there are just so many characters in that drama.

I've been buzzing through Tonsure for the last couple of days.

What can I say? I've become a huge Yoshitaka Yuriko fan.

Even for a light, slightly absurdest, comedy this one doesn't look to be very memorable. But I like silly... and I'm willing to watch almost anything Yuriko does.[/b]

Finished Engine today. It was alright. I felt so bad for all those kids not having parents. Well, actually most of them did have parents but they were unable to/didn't want to take care of them. Like the kid with the two doctor parents who just gave him up because he misbehaved... wtf. Or Toda Erika's character, whose parents divorced. So neither one of them could take care of her? Damn it was really upsetting. Still they probably had a much better time at the orphanage than at home. Oh and Kimutaku.... yeah, not much chemistry with Koyuki and could easily have been NOT THERE AT ALL.

Your review just made me not want to watch this drama. First of all, I'm not a fan of kid dramas. bleh And the no chemistry between Kimutaku and Koyucky? I'm outta there.

Yeah, shame about that. I liked it better than momo-chan did, but it could have been better.

Zero.

Oil and water.

No surprise, since Koyuki's character is an ice queen and Kimutaku's character is an a-hole.

Koyuki is gorgeous, but i'm beginning to think she doesn't have much range as an actress...

Yea, cause I always assumed it was Swing Girls that made her a star, and therefore she was already a star when Engine was made...

On Topic: Finished Star no Koi. I'll being spending today watching the Unfair Movie.

Ice queen and a-hole? Sounds like it'd be interesting, but I still I think I'd pass because of everyone's descriptions of it. Thank goodness I'm crossing something off of my list of dramas to watch! Mr Green
