Ice queen and a-hole? Sounds like it'd be interesting, but I still I think I'd pass because of everyone's descriptions of it. Thank goodness I'm crossing something off of my list of dramas to watch! |
I'm with A-Oyaji. I liked the drama. But then, I like dramas with kids... _________________

Me too. I'll send you a copy of Minna Mukashi wa Kodomo Datta once the subs are finished. It has kids, and Kuninaka Ryoko, AND Eita.
Oh, I watched ep. 8 yesterday while checking the subs. Another sweet ep

And Kimutaku doesn't have ANY range as an actor so there ya go. I did enjoy the orphanage parts but the racing and romance was meh. _________________

More times that not, dramas with kids are always smarmy and extremely melodramatic...

I found Bloody Monday quite enjoyable, if you ignore all the plotholes and cheesy moments.
Watching Honjitsu mo Hare, Ijou Nashi ep 1 and translating. Well, it's not as omgkillmenow boring as I expected at least. Having really low expectations tends to be helpful. _________________

Really? Isnt that about the boxer? I think that was the one and only series that Fukada didnt suck.
She played a role suitable for her for once.
A freak.
Anyway I did like it. There was a certain charm in the characters for me. _________________

Her acting in To Heart suited her character, I thought. The problem was she seemed to act the same way in other series after that.
I rewatched the first episode of Beachboys last night. It was better than I remembered. I was a bit confused the first time I watched it. Having watched it before, I could understand the expressions and little hints that were supposed to introduce the characters.
I can't write proper English now after editing Engrish subs for the last few days.

Be sure to check in on The BEach Boys thread. Some great pics there.
And that is a good summing up of Fukada's acting talents. _________________

So...my vote goes to Kiina which is based on facts and actual cases which to me is more interesting than what they have in VOICE. |
I actually thought they were similar in some ways, but like you, I enjoyed Kiina a lot more. Kanno Miho was fun to watch. Sawamura Ikki and Shirashi Miho were both very convincing during their limited screentime. I think I will continue to watch Kiina for the whole series.

I finished watching Tonsure.
http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Tonsure
Okay, here's my theory: The Eng Rish subs on the copy I bought were so bad that this little show simply wasn't able to overcome them... and that's why I'm willing to relegate these two discs to the whogivesadamn spindle.
It's a shame, really. I like the two main players. And the idea looked like it was something a good actress and a comic could have some fun with.
But it just didn't translate.
I am, however, having some fun with my lunch time series. I'm rotating episodes of "Zatoichi", "Aibou", & "Momotaro Zamurai". _________________ Manga is to Literature

Really? I liked her in Kamisama Mou Sukoshi Dake. Sure, she was over dramatic, but I really enjoyed that series a lot.
On topic: Watched an Aibou episode last night. Prolly gonna watch some other ones tonight too. _________________
