For a long time I didn't really like him. He was always playing smary characters and you wanted to put a cigarette out in his face. But all that changed with Mop Girl he was real likable and in Love Shuffle very good as well.
Wow, totally in agreement here!
On Topic: Finished Dr. Koto. Will be starting Hero tonight. I hope it's a romance. I feel like watching something fluffy. _________________

Weeeelll, it's got Kimtaku and Matsu but don't expect another Love Generation. And even with Abe and some great actors, this is probably my least favorite Kimtaku drama.
OT: Up to ep 10 of BOSS. They brought in Sorimachi. Does the phrase "Too little, to late" ring a bell.
This was the next one on my list, but when I saw that the lead is Sakai Masaaki, I thought I'd save it and watch it after a few other dramas. I just re-watched all of Churasan, so watching him again would be tiring.

I'm on the 3rd episode already, and already bored with it. I'll have to stick it through... but I might share your opinion once it's over.

There is very little romance in Hero. Not sure if it's really what you are looking for...
I shoulda read this thread before starting it.

Jdoramas just don't seem to do fluffy well...a show may start out great as a light romcom, but always gets bogged down in side issues by the end...
Jmovies are another story...I suggest The Handsome Suit, starring Tanihara Shosuke and Keiko Kitagawa...
I've also started Watashitachi no kyokasho after being so impressed with Kanno Miho in Iguana no Musume. It is a real curate's egg. It works best when dealing with Kanno Miho's personal issues, but every time Itoh Atsushi appears on the screen it's really difficult to resist the urge hit fast forward as both his acting and his character are utterly annoying.
I actually ended up dropping that drama around episode 4 or 5 or so because I was so annoyed by Itoh Atsushi. He's been one of those actors who'll definitely make me think twice before I pick up a drama he's in ever since.
In more current news, finished Ruri no Shima (+ SP) and Shikaotoko Aoniyoshi. I'd heard a lot of good things about Ruri no Shima, and I did enjoy it myself. Quite solid, and I've liked Narumi Riko in everything I've seen her in.
Shikaotoko Aoniyoshi was the one that really won me over though. I've felt like a lot of the dramas that go for a more quirky feel lately end up relying only on that as a gimmick and only half-heartedly tell something of a story in between over-the-top antics, so I wasn't expecting too much from it. But it never went that in that direction at all, and while it was definitely quirky and absurd, it was also excellently plotted. A bit slow for some, maybe, but the pacing just added to the charm for me. Overall, I loved it and it's now firmly on my list of definitely worth a rewatch someday.

Same here, but I was annoyed by his character rather than him. And some things seemed to be repeated over and over again, I was confused about what they are trying to get across.

But the story doesn't revolve around him, it's around Yui-chan's character.

That's a bit ... lopsided. It's about both of them. They both have their own story, which when compared, were roughly even with each other from my point of view.
But, surrounded by Kitagawa Keiko, Aibu Saki, Kanjiya Shihori, Komatsu Ayaka, and Maya Miki...
It might be tolerable...
Yamapuke? this is the 1st. out of all his nakenames, i have never heard this one. maybe you should try it on his thread on d-a.
I am neutral towards him. don't hate nor or love him but i have to admit that i thought he was kind cute in Nobuta Wo Produce and i really liked his character.
as for me , due to annoying presence of AibuSuck i will pass on watching it. _________________

Now that you bring it up... Yeah.
Guess I was focused more on her.
Only natural
I have to admit I put off Muri na renai for a while after watching Churasan, for the same reason. Sakai Masaaki is great, but you do see a lot of him in Churasan. And i'm trying to ration the Yui-chan dramas that have been subbed

I think Hero was a bad move for me. I'm already bored of it. But I'll finish it, and then perhaps search for a romance. After the romance I'll watch Muri na Renai! _________________
