I'm soo new to dorammaass... JUST finished Kurosagi... now in love with yamaPi.. mmm
Well... hell-ooo there, YamaPi fan... welcome to the fold, lol. We're just messing with you, so no hard feelings, ayt? But don't get your knickers in a twist if you find this thread's per capita love for YamaPi to be *slightly* lower than the global mean. I liked him a LOT in his earlier work (right about up to NOBUTA WO PRODUCE), it's his later stuff I can't stand (maybe with the exception of PROPOSAL DAISAKUSEN). So it seems that we like the same person--but for different reasons, eh?
On-topic:ZETTAI KARESHI / ABSOLUTE BOYFRIEND. Durrr... can robots learn to love? Can a human fall for a(n incredibly good-looking) household appliance? Can Japan possibly think of a screwier premise for a drama? Will the Blue Fairy magically appear and grant the Love Droid's wish to become "a real boy"? Do I look like I give a flying fig? *E.G.'s closeup* ==>
Strangely enough, I actually started to care for the damn machine in the final episode of the drama. Reminded me of that scene from THE WIZARD OF OZ:
Dorothy: Goodbye, Tin Man. Oh, don't cry! You'll rust so dreadfully. Here's your oil can.
Tin Woodsman: Now I know I've got a heart, 'cause it's breaking...
*Googles the drama* Waiiit... the actor who played Night (LMAO! whattaname! ) was that tall student dude in GOKUSEN 2?!??!?!???? Fo' real???? Had. No. Idea. Can. Not. Compute. Can. Not. Compute... *self-destructs* In ZETTAI he's unbelievably handsome (and well-built ) and all... but, I dunno, not really my type. Weird but true...
Nothing like a little Shakespeare to class up this thread.
"The fault, dear Brutus, lies not in our stars but in ourselves . . ."
If Japanese audiences would stop supporting the flotsam that passes for dorama these days--flotsam whose sole purpose is to promote all those execrable fanboy/fangirl favorites--then maybe dorama in general would start smarting up instead of dumbing down.
And strangely enough even though Hayami was cast as a member of a rowing team, he acted like a robot in that one too!
Thanks, gaijinmark! Hahahahaa, maybe Hayami really IS made of fiberglass and electrical wiring. Oh, so the female lead in ZETTAI was Aibu Saki, huh? THE Aibu Saki, that phenomenally bad actress? Wow, all the while I had no idea. Well, she DID suck big-time in that drama. My main reason for hitting the FFWD button wasn't even the robot, or the second-fiddle guy (whose face uncannily reminded me of Michael Jackson, pre-Dangerous days). It was her.

(Something is rotten in the state of... Jdorama, ehhh?)
Flotsam... execrable... dumbing down... Ouchy! Et tu, shin2? That was, er... the most unkindest cut of all, lol. I guess that makes me, dear shin2, an "underling."
Well, I got my own share of "execrable fangirl favorites," I do, I do! (I can just hear you thinking, Lord, what fools these mortals be... ) I like my YamaPi! I like my Kame! I like my Nino from Arashi! I like my Oguri Shun! I like my Idol vehicles!
At the end of the day, all I really have to say is, "This above all: to thine own self be true."

After figuring out what I did wrong with the files, I was able to watch, Trick: The Movie, All of Trick 3, and then Trick: The Special. All I have left is Trick the Movie 2....
