Really? Shocked

I don't think I'll ever migrate over to K-dramas... Just not interested.

LOL, okay. Mr Green

I've seen bits and pieces of K-dramas that's broadcast on our local TV station, but they don't grab me at all...

Me either. I've seen 3 or 4 and honestly, 5 minutes after finishing them I couldn't tell you what they were about if my life depended on it.

OT: 3 episodes into Bara no nai Hanaya. Kind of creepy in a way, and I've got more questions than answers, but Yuko's in it!! w00t!

The shows are longer per episode, about 60 minutes and in length- 16+ episodes, Nut easier to get to know the characters and add in some interesting side plots because of the extra time, though because of that it can drag. I watched Sassy Girl, 70 minutes an episode, longer is not always better. Puppy Dog Eyes

EDIT- I switched for a while, now I'm back to J-Dramas, more hooked than ever! Dancing

I could agree with that. K-dramas are longer, so there's room for more character development. But that's also a double edged sword, that means more room for it to be boring and drag out. Overall, I think there's good production value with K-dramas.

Maybe the main reason why I switched to jdorama Sweat
cos before it takes me 2 days to finish a series in Kdrama while in jdorama it's a maximum of 11 hours Victory! Peace!

Yup.

The other thing is that I really don't have much interest in Korea other than their food (e.g., kimchi) and products (Samsung, LG, etc.), so my motivation is practically zero.

Japan on the other hand... Smitten

I took a break from my Kdrama break from Jdramas to watch the jdrama Around 40.

It started slow and I almost deserted it. Glad I stayed with it. Although it does not have the usual youthful beauty female star that is almost a requirement for me, Amami Yuki has done a good enough job as the female protagonist to keep my attention. When a drama draws me in to the extent of feeling a part of it, then it must be good.... the benchmark for this of course will always be Churasan. So here I am on ep 8 with only two eps to go. Then back to my Kdrama break from Jdramas for several more of the Korean beauties. Naughty

Episode 8 of Magerarenai Onna. First drama I've watched Kanno-san and she is hilarious! Tanihara Shosuke and Nagasaku Hiromi are both good but don't really like Tsukamoto Takashi's character. Anyway, next week's finale should be interesting....

Off subject a bit, but any drama suggestions with Kanno-san?

Just of the top of my head,

Iguana no Musume

Ii Hito

and

Watshitachi no Kyokasho

The first two are from the late '90s when Kanno was just starting out and you could see even then she had the stuff. Although Ii Hito is more a vehicle for Kusanagi and Kanno has more of a supporting role, it's still one of my favorites!

I buzzed through Liar Game 2 this week.

http://wiki.d-addicts.com/LIAR_GAME

Kichise Michiko had what amounts to a cameo in it. Aside from giving me the opportunity to stare at her face... the show didn't offer much. Unless of course you enjoyed those math puzzles they used to make us do in grammar school. My fast forward thumb got a heck of a workout with this one.

And though I absolutely, positively promised myself I'd wait until I had all of Fumo Chitai http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Fumo_Chitai recorded, and the subs in place, before I started watching again...

I gobbled up episodes 10 - 12.

I'll tell you... it's got a bit more melodrama in it than I normally care for. And on the surface, the story telling seems a bit shallow and inelegant.

But the episodes flick by in a heart beat. And at the end of each I reallllly want to move on to the next episode to see what happens.

Re: Kanno Miho dramas:

My favorites have to be:

Churasan: http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Churasan She's one of the supporting players, but she was my favorite part of the show.

"Ai No Uta": http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Ai_no_Uta
