I downloaded "Joou no Kyoushitsu" "The Queen's Classroom" on spec this afternoon. I hadn't heard anything about it, but none of the other shows I've been trying to collect are up yet, so I figured I'd give it a shot.
I just watched it, and it was terrific. Amami Yuki makes a great Wicked Witch of a teacher. And the images of the world as seen through a 6th grader's eyes are just wonderful.
If you thought Sorimachi's Onizuka was the anti Kinpachi Sensei, wait until you get a load of the Queen. _________________ Manga is to Literature

That might be why I liked it so much.
I did 8 years in a Catholic Grammar School back east in the days when the Nuns wore the full Habit and Wimple. And she reminded me of all of my teachers.
Personally I didn't care for the switch at the end. She'd created such a powerful character, and set such a good mood for the shows to come. And then it was almost like they were desperately trying to yuk it up, as if to say, see, she isn't really a bad person. See her smile, watch her dance! She's really nice!
It just kind of bothered me. _________________ Manga is to Literature

I see your point. Kind of like "The camera is off, you can let down your hair and lose your character." I like the duality of it: the strict teacher and yet she can have fun at times.

about to start ep 6 in a minute... so far it's pretty good, though the "that's why ill never ****** ***" every 10 minutes is kinda driving me crazy. Im sure there's a reason they did that, and I would speculate, but it would turn this post into a spoiler'ish type thing.
