In the past couple of weeks Ifve watched:

Keibuho Yabe Kenzo http://www.jdorama.com/drama.1527.htm

Atami no Sousakan http://www.jdorama.com/drama.1538.htm

Unubore Deka http://www.jdorama.com/drama.1537.htm

All low brow, juvenile, slap stick comediesc and Ifve enjoyed the heck out of every one of them. So much for my attempts at thinking of myself as a mature adult.

^^ Heard some good things about the Atami series, Odagiri is truly one of the best around, gonna watch that soon. w00t!
Just finished up Tatta Hitotsu No Koi, wasn't expecting much from it but it turned out to be okay, Applaud classic love story of good girl/bad guy from the opposite side of the tracks. Did get a bit cheesy towards the end, Nut unbelievable how much running they did in this drama, well they do quite a bit in others too, don't they have any public transportation over there? Sweat

I was talking with a friend this weekend who mentioned this drama. It sounded amusing, so I might watch it one of these months. Glad it got the elusive Geezer approval. Bleah

The synopsis reminds me of Kimi Hannin Janai Yo Ne?.

Me too. Even more so when you see that Kaname Jun, the besotted detective in "Kimi Hannin Janai Yo Ne?" is a regualr in "Unubore." He's one of the Unubore Five.

But "Unubore" makes "Kimi Hannin Janai Yo Ne?" seem like serious detective story.

Even for Nagase this one goes so far over the top that it slides down the other side and immediately starts climbing back up.

The other regular cast members are just as nutty as Nagase... the guest killers were the only "real" characters in the show... and it was just a lot of fun to watch.

Oh, and a quick note... Nakashima Mika (Nana) was a regular and it was the first time I've ever really noticed her in anything she's done. I looked her up half way through the show to find out who she was... and it turned out I'd seen her a number of times before without giving her a second thought.

It's fun to see somebody getting better at what they do.

Then, I might check it out; I don't mind an "easy watch." Mr Green

Sigh, wanted to watch Hancho, don't think it's that popular, taking an eternity to download. Shameful Cry It's okay, in the meantime rewatch #5(?) of M no Higeki, truly one of my all time faves, flew a bit under the radar but is still one of the best ones to watch. Victory! Peace!

Finished off Nihonjin no Shiranai Nihongo. Never really liked any of the characters, but the show had its fun moments. Lots of vocabulary for those studying Japanese.

Episode 3, Guilty
Still hanging on to this one, only one that the subs are closely up to date
(Heiwa fansubs are the best for Jdramas).
Curious to see where the Kanno-Tamaki relationship goes.

Watched Episodes 2-3 of SPEC using Open Sub for translations to give me an idea on what's going on. Still very interesting, with Kase and Toda doing a good job.

I'm half way through Massugu Otoko http://www.jdorama.com/drama.1489.htm and a little surprised at how much I'm enjoying it.

Normally seeing Fukada Kyoko's name attached to a series is enough to keep me from touching it. But I noticed that Sato Ryuta was finally given a lead in something so I thought I'd give it a chance.

Sato has been playing the "good soldier", second banana, goofy best friend for years. And unfortunately for him, he plays that role so welll he's never really gotten a shot as the "romantic lead" in a series.

Well... this was his shot. And 5 episodes in... I think he's doing a good job. So good, in fact, that Fukada hasn't been able to annoy me yet. And that's saying something. I think she's doing a good job playing the "May Fly" to Sato's "Straight Man".

This one isn't slap stick. It's a romantic comedy. And so far, so good.

Keibuho Yabe Kenzo, at episode 4 already - as Geezer said: highly enjoyable slap stick with references to the Trick franchise - sadly only six episodes were made.

I downloaded also some older stuff, which I intend to watch in the next weeks or so: Hotman, Shota no sushi and Satorare.

I checked out Freeter episode one, I couldn't go beyond the first 10mins, my work environment is just too close to the one portrayed in the intro of this show.

Celebrating the National Rewatch a J-dorama month Beat You , finished up M no Higeki, can't explain why I love it so much, the whole cast, even Goro, is superb, if you like dark, intense, mysterious dramas this one is suggested. Victory! Peace!
Now up to episode 3 of Mop Girl, had completely forgotten what is was about, just remembered it was good and that it has been. Dancing Don't know if any others caught the scene in episode one where the Sensei pays the restuarant bill, he paid with a 2,000 yen note, the girls had a nice chuckle at the bill, wonder if that's like using a $2 bill here, you can but just strange to see someone do it. hehe

I finished Massugu Otoko

http://www.jdorama.com/drama.1489.htm

I called it a Romantic Comedy the other day... but honestly there wasn't much comedy in it. It was more the Romance between two polar opposites.

But it was pretty good. A bit too preachy to be considered a great show. But I enjoyed it from beginning to end.

^^ Gonna start on Manatsu no Merry Christmas later on tonight, big time thumbs up from you, 10/10. Applaud Never was a big fan of Takenouchi Yutaka until recently, he's rapidly becoming a fave of mine. Mr Green
Wrapped up a rewatch of Mop Girl, enjoyable drama though it was a rarity where the rewatch wasn't as good as the first watch, same old jokes started to wear a bit thin towards the end, bleh worth watching for Keiko who was just superb for the whole series. w00t!

Actually towards the end, her squealing started to wear on me: Tanihara Shosuke stole the show, IMO.
