I made the mistake of starting Shota no sushi stone cold sober last night.

Not the way to go.

This might turn out to be a rough series for me to like.

On the plus side, Kimura Yoshino is supposed to be in there somewhere.

On the minus side, I'm over 9 years old, and Japanese food frightens me.

I'll see how it fares this weekend, once properly lubricated.

How many beers would that equate to, Geez? hehe

BMW

After watching the Iggles destroy my Niners yesterday I was pretty well medicated and ready for another try at watching old Shota.

How big a dose? Gee, couldn't tell you. But I will say, if you watch a couple of episodes at the first fast forward speed on the Panasonic DVD recorder... you know the one where it still plays the sound, but at double speed... it can be a pretty funny show.

This is gonna be another one of those, "finish everything on your plate! There are starving children in New Jersey who'd love to change places with you..." shows.

I'll watch all of it. But I won't be happy.

Heh, I never thought about trying it that way... Good idea Thumbsup

Been catching up on old shows... just finished Long Vacation and Gokusen. Both are very good. The music in LV is awesome and I Love Yankumi! Watching Love Generation now and Nemureru mori is probably next on the list.

I'm currently watching Gokusen and Five. Five's taking me a while to finish because its torrents don't have a lot of seeds. D: It's been almost a month and I still only have 1-4. Which is sad, because Five was the first drama I watched (even if it was only the first episode). Shameful Cry

At least I have most of Gokusen already downloaded. Puppy Dog Eyes

I finished GTO a few days ago, though. \8D/ It was my second Jdrama.

Hmm, I just read this so naturally I jumped right over to the description of the show to take a look.

25-year old Yuka Orihara (Emi Wakui) is a lovely and cheerful woman Uh-oh. Something badfs gonna happen here. We cannot really see any differences in her appearance, but she was born with a lower IQ than average. Lovely, cheerfulc but childlike and simple. That donft bode well. She grew up with lots of love of her parents, so she has become a good-natured girl. Howeverc here it comes. she cannot control her feelings very well, and sometimes she does something too wild, which concerns people around her. While her intellectual ability is low, she has an amazing sense in arts. She has been drawing artistic paintings, and creating unique objects which reflect her pure heart. an idiot savant with a pure heart of gold. Uh-huh. Her mother (Jun Fubuki) always watches her with love and even her late father, who was also a painter, still influences her. As if guiding her from beyond. Besides, she has a good friend; Ryo Kanzaki (Katsunori Takahashi). He is her cousin and like a brother to her. Naturally But Yuka's peaceful life suddenly changes Say it ainft so!!! when her work gets a prize at a competition to which Ryo has entered her work secretly. The bastard! She is forced to come out of her small world to an unknown world. Oh no! And she meets a man; Oh thank goodness Toru Sawatari (Shinichi Tsutsumi), a reporter for a photo-magazine. He used to be a journalist of a newspaper, but was demoted to an associate company a few years ago.Probably for being too honest, and too good looking. But he is determined to return to the paper as he hates the power.Fight The Power! Toru, who is very cool and has a past, starts having a business relationship with Yuka. Business. Uh-huh! He does not care about her retardation and treats her as an ordinary person. This comes from his indifference, but as Yuka believes he is a 'nice' person, he gets attracted to her purity...Who wouldnft? Purity and a vacant smile always trump big breasts, a tight butt, and long legs. Donft they?

Up my alley?

I know you're a tough as nails rider chic, Eve, but I'm wondering... how hard a shot to the head did you take when you fell off that horse yesterday? You know... even John Wayne went to the Doctor's office once in a while.

Honestly thats what I thought when I read the synopsis. But a good friend who has good taste told me to check it out.
And ..... Wakui has a lovely face, big breasts, and a tight butt to go with her purity. lol
The fall I took was pretty hard and I did get a crack in the mouth like I was hit by a prizefighter.
But.... Im on ep 8 and the series is very absorbing. Nothing really awful has happened (though there is still time) The heroine is multifaceted.
Ill let you know if it holds up through the end. Wink

Im surprisded Ive found time to fit it in. hehe hehe

I just finished Pure and I really liked it.

I might have liked it even more if some moron hadnt felt the need to email a spoiler for the ending when I mentioned that was what I was watching. I was like, WTF? Doh! Grumble Angry I was only on ep 9.
Could have smacked them. Smack! Smack! Beat You Beat You

Oh well on to the next. Ive seen the first ep of Gakkou No Sensei. And it looks like it might be amusing. Especially for Yuko Takeuchi fans.

I guess my opinion of Emi is colored by the fact that I've never seen her in anything where she didn't look like her dog just died.

PCM

Re: Naoko, the girl friend, and Bus Stop.

I can see her point. With Bus Stop it's tough to claim that you're fascinated with the plot.

So there's really only one honorable solution.

Stay up really late and watch the episodes on the sly. Naoko's worth losing a little sleep over.
