Drat! I finished "Rennai kekkon no housoku" (1999) last night.

Shouldn't have. I should have had one episode left. But when it came down to it, I just couldn't turn it off last night.

Light comedy. A wonderful cast through and through. Good to the last drop. (Okay, that's probably too old a reference.)

Koizumi was wonderful as an OL in her mid thirties, slightly, politely, pleasantly, dazed by all the odd turns her life started taking once the show started.

And Yanagiba Toshiro was a great, comic, stand up guy/bumpkin. He's been typecast as the tough, tight assed, demi-Jack Web/Joe Friday character he played in "Odoru daisousassen". But the guy was terrific!

Enna,

Thank you. And thank you for recognising the reference.

I figured BMW would get it. But that's because I know he's polluted his brain with almost as much TV as I have. (I've just been doing it longer.)

Hmmm. Now the hard part. Picking out a series to follow "Rennai kekkon no housoku"

I guess I'll just close my eyes, hold my nose, grab whatever's at the top of the to watch spindle, and hope for the best.

BMW

I'd love to.

I actually liked My Mother the Car but I think that's because I was a fan of the Ann Southern show. (It was always on in reruns when I was faking sick to cut school. Great associations.)

The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis... What can I say? Maynard G Krebs was my favorite TV character. (R.I.P.) And I still have a crush on Tuesday Weld. -- By the way, it was a terrific movie before becoming a TV show.

As for The Thunderbirds... I always thought that one was just dopey.

For rock'em sock'em adventure, Commando Cody was my guy.[/i]

I was just talking about that series the other day. I was really little but I loved it!! Big Grin Big Grin

Well Im on ep 9 of Gakkou No Sensei now. Managed to stay awake a few hours. Wink
In some ways its a typical student teacher show.
But the two main characters are a bit off beat. Both actors do a good job.
Yuko Takeuchi even steps out of her standard Angel On Earth role.
And Dohmoto is amusing.
Ive enjoyed it so far.

I'm taking a small break from Japanese Variety TV shows.

As of this moment, I'm watching Late Night Trash TV.

What's better than Jerry Springer at this time of night? hehe

Tomorrow is another day. I'll be back on the Japanese variety shows. Nut

currently on Densha Otoko.. last 2 episodes.. just finished Umizaru, was really good.

Eve glad that you like Gakkou no Sensei, it was really enjoyable too, the scene at the end of the PTA meeting was really superb and touching.

Contemplating what to watch now that i complete the 3 fujitv shows for the summer. Downloading Sekachu and Bayside Shakedown tho.

@ dashX

Loved your Yuko website/shrine!

Looks beautiful and very professional. Do you mind me asking where you learned how?
I see her promotion company is into her Angel On Earth image too. Wink

oh thanks alot for visiting the website glad you like it..heehee trying to get more ppl mad over her like how bwracer did with ryoko-san. And to answer your question, I learnt how to do it over the past months (although been doing designing for a while now) and the website was both a shrine and a practice for me=)

anyway yah i notice her recent shows has mostly been her in the perfect girl role (cept for perhaps The Gumpy Gene) really hoping she does another tomboy role like in Lunch Queen and Gakkou no Sensei.
