i agree i think some of those "older dramas" are better than a fair number of the shows that have been released later or in recent years for that matter.
I like alot of the older ones too.
But still if its good. I like it.
No matter what year its from.
But most of my very favorites are from the 90's like Say You Love Me and White Love Story . _________________

putting aside production values....if it's old or new, it's good if the story is good and the acting is good.

i'm watching odoru daisousassen...'97...light hearted and fun.....oda yuji and eri fukatsu are cool together....also crawling thru Strawberry on Shortcake (SOS) they should have a called it "SHITTY OLD SHOW"
this drama progressively gets worse....i'll finish watching the last two episodes when i'm in a masochistic mood.

Bwahahahahahaha...
It's a weird one. It's the kind of drama Freud would have written.

SOS is WACK....i'm not saying this applies to you but i don't judge my dramas based on cute or good looking or what not.....the story is so flat it's reprehensible.....and the characterizations are ricockulous. i dunno most of the kyoko fukada dramas i've seen are pretty lame.....and i think she's cute but i don't base my viewing decisions on that, ya know. she can't really act...hmm...the only kyoko fukada drama that i watched and liked was prolly otousan n' that's because the other characters made it work.

Well, since you haven't gotten there yet, prepare yourself, the ending is even WACKer. HA HA.
thanks for your warning of impending doom but i fathomed that long ago...especially when that fuggin' lame ass sentence at the end of every episode..."that's why i could never forget you" you know some stupid shiet is going to happen
maybe i should get some of that pharm grade cocaine you were talking about to dull the pain.

haven't seen Otousan, but i love Kyoko, she is so adorable...probably my first J-idol that got me addicted to J-whateveras...
haven't seen SOS yet, but i got the series, thanks to KT.

When you're mixing drugs and dramas you really need to beware of adverse synergy. And that is why I prescribe Beer for S.O.S. You need to take the edge off. Bonghits would help too, and maybe a whippet or two during the most painful parts. But stimulants like cocaine would really turn your brains to jelly.

arigato, sensei....otsukaresamadeshita.
maybe some opium would lend itself well.....being in a catatonic state while watching S.O.S. might be a good thing.

wow, that's a lot of j-dramas you got there. Lots to choose from, ne?
I would see SOS, and give it a try. I have i too, and i intend to watch it.

Well, I was largely joking around, but I did think the ending was really dopey (so to speak). I generally liked the cast, and most of the episodes up through the middle were okay. But that's just my opinion.

don't get me wrong i'm expressing a personal opinion...but i think it just not very good.
i would watch GTO, LONG VACATION, Beautiful life, summer snow, orange days, dragon zakura or antique FIRST..i think ANY one of those is BETTER than SOS....the characters in SOS are like moronic.
some of the dramas you listed are my all time favorites. SOS sux...a lot of ppl like it...well if ur watching it just for cute guys then your threshold for deciding what to watch is probably lower than mine.
