Under the heading of
guilty pleasure I finished the last episode of
"Dandori" "Dance Drill" last night.
Not a great show. But I enjoyed it.
I went in expecting to see a bunch of
helium huffers in school girl outfits, and cheer leader costumes, bouncing around and earnestly battling to be the best darned dance team they can be.
I got that. But they offered a little bit more. The show told a fairly interesting story. Developed some pretty good characters. And all in all, kept me intersted through the whole series.
It also introduced me to a couple of young actresses that I think are gonna be staples in dramas for the next few years.
Rosa Kato and
Aki Nishihara . They're both supporting players in this show, but my bet is they're gonna make some noise.
Kato is a cute little model who's spent the last few years working with comics on different variety shows. And that's great training. And Nishihara looks and holds herself like an old fashioned movie star.
Oh, and for those
Miho Kanno fans who tune in to see her (as I did)... she really only has a cameo in this show. She gets about 30 seconds of screen time in each of 8 or 9 episodes. She probably filmed her whole part in two days of shooting. Ah well.
