Now there's a genre I haven't seen in a drama yet...

All three Trick's are on my list. I'll add the others as well and hopefully stumble across them in my hunting. Thank you! Bow

Currently on epi 9 of LV. I plan to finish this one today.

Wynter

You're starting to skip down my favorite road.

Long Vacation still sits in the top slot in terms of the best dramas I've seen so far.

And Trick... well "Trick" is another in a long line of really terrific shows put together by Yukihiko Tsutsumi.

Along with dozens of others, he's the goof-ball behind;

Keizoku

Trick

Stand Up!

H2

2LDK

The Jam Films

So far, I've never seen one of his series or movies that I didn't think was fantastic.

shindou

How do you put "Midnight Rain" and "Sleeping Forest" in the same genre with "Trick" and "Keizoku"?

True, there's a mystery to be solved at the end of each (though Trick focuses on a series of mysteries rather than one grand puzzle to be sloved) but "Midnight Rain" is a long slow, melo-drama, and "Midnight Rain" is a straight mystery. While "Keizoku" and "Trick" are both amusument park rides.

Despite having two sequels, the Trick series doesn't seem to go stale like Gokusen 2 did... The lack of girly men probably helped. Beaten

I think it might be up there for me as well! I've just finished epi 9 and I'm trying very hard not to rush into the next, since I'm at work and in dire need to be productive.

Sugoi! Well, I've seen H2 and I loved it. It'll always be in the top 10, or even top 5, list. B-san actually got me hooked on the idea of watching the Trick trilogy from way back. Knowing that you enjoyed the series as well confirms its ability to please. Thanks! Bow

LOL! I bet it did. I'm trying to steer away from the girly-boy dramas for now. Thumbsup

hmm, i guess i was tying them all together as having a mystery element in it. Midnight Rain and Sleeping Forest were both more like mysteries that was slowly unravelled with each episode. Midnight Rain did progress as more of a drama with a mystery element in it than a straight mystery as you point out; i always seem to mainly remember yasuko and yuji's character trying to rediscover their past when i think of Midnight Rain. The categorization of jdramas are somewhat less well-defined for me i guess - hence the grouping under the mystery banner

finished IWGP eps 8-10 and now awaiting the last episode.

Watched antique ep1 last night, with a very poor quality of pic, strived on but finally met a dead end when trying to copy ep2 from dvd-r to hard disk. Looked at the back of the dvd just realized there were scratches all the way.. Shameful Cry Shameful Cry
Now planning to watch Trick 1 tonight.. w00t! w00t!

There's a manga about Nodame?? is it funny??

The drama is actually an adaptation of the manga. The anime has also been released, currently at episode 3.

yup. like thtl said jeagal_maut.

is it just my eyes but seems like they turn into 3D in piano playing parts?
my friend says it's b/c hand animation is expensive so they used 3D

jeagal_maut,
it's funny, i can finish a book quicker than eating instant ramen, but the thing is that it doesn't have music Sweat

and funnier, you live in Jakarta but you don't know that there's a legal Nodame Cantabile manga in Indonesia? Shocked it's already up to book 16 you know...

so many characters Nut

As soon as I know the drama is going to be aired, I went off to buy all 16 volumes (Chinese version). You are right, of course, the manga is good but I just can't 'visualize' the music. The drama, on the other hand, made it much easier to appreciate the moods of the characters. Now when I go back to the manga I can put myself into the atmosphere a lot easier.

i've started watching too many dramas at once. especially too many with matsuoka masahiro in them Beat You not that i mind because he's one of my favorite actors but i have too many plots and characters going through my head currently lol.

currently i'm watching:
psychometrer Eiji 1(rewatching)
tengoku ni ichiban chikai otoko 1 and 2
manhattan love story
akechi kogoro vs kindaichi kousuke
gift (rewatching)

oh yeah speaking of kindaichi, i just watched goro chan's kindaichi special for this year and it was pretty good.
