Yes. it is. What a good idea, Little Miss(ing).

On topic:

Power was out for 6 days after Hurricane Jeanne. Almost ran out of the water I had stored for the horses. Power went on just in time.

Did someone call my name? hehe Hey GM! Wave I haven't been in a blackout recently, but my sister and nephew who both live in upstate NY experienced a blackout these past few days, due to not only the heavy snow, but the strong winds downing power lines in their area. Fortunately for them during the blackout they stayed with relatives and a good friend who still had electric power. The relative lives in an apt and the friend has his own generator for his house.

I have experienced 2 major blackouts that I can recall. Or is it 3? Bonk The big NYC blackouts of 1966 and 1977. As bad as they are, they can bring out the good in people to become more neighborly and helpful. Smile

Plese stay safe if you are ever in a blackout, especially if you light candles. Fingers crossed

Thanks Eve NYC and my part of Long Island were not hit with a blackout. Smile

I'm upstate too, no power outages though they had predicted it for the weekend, doesn't go out in the city for too long. Applaud Though back on Labor Day 1998 most of the city was out from 3-7 days due to a mini tornado, few people died. Remember for some reason there was a KFC that had power, no lie when I say the line was over 3 blocks long, had a curfew for that week where no one was allowed out from midnight to 6:00 am. U Suck

For the most part, they're small counties, takes a while to repair because all the lines are not too close to each other, guess the Hudson River took the brunt of the storm, those counties are along the river.

My friend is along a little annex line so everyone around him has electric. Must be annoying to see all the lights around you. Doh!
