From the synopsis of K-Movie "Singles" that I quoted , I assume that movie is a remake of J-Dorama :
NA Nan stops by Dong-mi and JUNG Joon's place after getting dumped by her boyfriend. Dong-mi is a well-to-do working woman that believes in free-sex for all, and Joon is a salary man who has a lopsided relationship with a younger girl. Ironically, these two with opposite personalities are roommates. The three spend the night listening to NA Nan's break up story. To make things worse, NA Nan gets relocated to a restaurant division. Nonetheless, with her friends' support, she manages to adjust to her new job through trial and error. Right then, Mr. Charm goes into work on NA Nan and Dong-mi and Joon accidentally end up sleeping together
The comparison between "29th Christmas" (J-Dorama) with "Singles" (K-Movie) :
29th Christmas
Three best friends (Ken-chan, Noriko, Aya)
Noriko (played by Tomoko Yamaguchi) :
Noriko is approaching 30 and is still unmarried. She is a fashion designer, dreaming of success and a Paris Collection. On her 29th birthday her world falls apart. Her boss transfers her from design to managing a bar. Her boyfriend betrays her for another woman. Shocked, Noriko decides to leave home and to move in with her best friends, Ken-chan and Aya. Noriko is also courted by Kisha-san (Toru Nakamura) whom she thinks is just a playboy. As time goes by, Noriko start learning to adjust her new job at the bar and realizing that Kisha-san really loves her.
Ken-chan (played by Toshiro Yanagiba) :
Ken, the man of the group, is an average salaryman, he falls in love with Kanna, a young bijin/beautiful woman [played by Maki Mizuno] soon-to-be married who, despite her innocent looks, is very manipulative and can also be mean. One night, when he got fooled again by Kanna and Aya is depressed with her uncertain relationship with Asaba, the two of them spending the night together.
Aya (played by Yuki Matsushita) :
Aya is a camerawoman, she has an illicit affair with a gifted musician named Asaba.
Singles
Three best friends (NA Nan, JUNG Joon , Dong-mi)
NA Nan (played by JANG Jin-young) :
Everything was just fine and dandy for NA Nan.The day she found a hole on her head, her boyfriend dumps her to make things worse. She's stuck in a no-way-out situation. At work, she's relocated to a restaurant division. Everything in her life turns to trouble. Nonetheless, with her friends' support, she manages to adjust to her new job through trial and error. Right then, Mr. Charm (KIM Joo-hyuk) goes into work on NA Nan. Mr. Charm falls head over heels for NA Nan in the movie. Day in and day out of making visits to Nan's restaurant and sending her signals, this slow woman still knows not Mr. Charm's intention. When she learns of his intent later on, she tells herself, "He's not that bad...why not go out with him?"
JUNG Joon (played by LEE Bum-soo) :
Dong-mi's roommate and butt buddy, JUNG Joon. He gets involved with a younger girl that's intent on marrying a rich man while dating the nice Joon. To this, NA Nan and Dong-mi tell him in unison, "Hey, wake up! All you are is a gum to her!". As JUNG Joon faces problems letting her go, he accidentally begins to find the scent from Dong-mi! Dong-mi and Joon accidentally end up sleeping together
Dong-mi (played by UM Jung-hwa) :
NA Nan's friend and working woman, Dong-mi. She's a cool and hip working woman that doesn't' stop guys from coming and leaving. One day, her work superior came trying to seduce her, whereby she told him that she had prepared a special action plan for him. She manages to take his pants off and
Personal note : I think there is different characterization between Aya (the original "29th X-Mas") with Dong-mi (the remake "Singles"). Aya is a fragile woman while Dong-mi is a tough girl (well, atleast that what I assume. Haven't watched the movie yet )
I don't think it's necessary to produce a remake version of Winter Sonata. Winter Sonata sucked, why would the remake be done if the original was terrible?

Probably more spice put in and makes it more interesting, but then, first impression already not that good.. if there are any japanese version of it, the reason for me to get it will be only 'just for the heck I have it'
this is a very old thread..but i think its time to revive it.
there is a recent korean remake of Shiroi Kyoto. its a very good adaptation, they basically followed the exact storyline. the korean actors were very good as well, imho, kim myung min played the better dr.zaizen as compared with toshiaki karasawa.
there is also an ongoing remake of Koibito Yo, but i havent heard any feedback about that yet
