Watch the waitress in episode 6 or 7 (not sure), the one serving kimutaku and his ex in the restaurant......it's Utada Hikaru.
Omg! Yeah that was like whoa. What was she thinking? It's just like Glay's Takuro and Hisashi. They were featured in Casshern in the most awful way. _________________

No one's commented here for a while... so let's change that bwha ha
I really enjoyed this drama.
It was the only KimuTaku drama I wanted to watch initially (now I seem to love em all) but I was put off by people commenting on the open ending.
After watching Good Luck, I wanted to see Kimu's other shows and this was one of the chosen. I actually really really loved it, and the open ending wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be.
I thought it was funny and interesting. My favourite episode was 9

because I felt it had the most romance Kurio was a Hero pretty much all through the show but in this he was like... an action hero XDDDD I thought it was sweet how he took care of Amamiya and then jumped in front of her when the woman came at her with the knife. And the ep had a fab ending made me giggle, Kurio's reaction ah ha ha
Anyway I ordered the SP now and I am looking forwards to the movie in September... YATTA!!! _________________

HERO The Movie will premiere on September 8th!
Synopsis: The little case in the little town in the DRAMA SP, has not ended yet. Apparently, it becomes a HUGE case in the movie, involving a certain politician.
Kuryu Kohei will face his toughest enemy (a tough lawyer) ever, acted by Matsu Takako's father, Matsumoto Koshiro.
On the romantic side, from the previews, it seems Kuryu never contacted Amamiya for 6 years, and Amamiya snapped about it. She's always in an angry mood (in a funny way), ever since Kuryu returns to the office.
Loved their bickering scene in a foodshop(from the preview)...
Amamiya (tipsy, drinking too much): Why do I have to be the one who call you first??!
Kuryu: Why do I have to call you first??
Amamiya: I came aaall the way to your place already!!
^_^
Anyway, FujiTV held an exhibition at the main building, Odaiba from July 14th to Sep 2nd. With ticket fee 1200yen, the exhibition also includes the upcoming movie, HERO. The corner is called HERO STREET, and it is located on the 24th floor of FujiTV building.
I just got back from Odaiba, and these are the results of my shots^^
The entrance, written "Tokyo Public Prosecutor Office, Josai branch".
Amamiya's notebook and pen:
Amamiya's Korean language note (Kuryu and Amamiya goes to Seoul in the movie to investigate the case):

Someone must have watched the movie, with english subs available, but no one has posted...
I am confused about the verdict. Why was it handed down?
Click on button to reveal/hide spoiler:
After the opposing lawyer ask for more proof that the defendant actually committed the crime after that photo taken on mobile phone was shown, there seemed to be no further court action and then the sentence was handed down. What happened???
Did the version I watched got cut or something? It's already 2 hours and 10 minutes

i'm not sure if i can help you...i just saw it recently and got confused about this part too...

i guess, the idea that the defendant's claim (i.e. at the dentist) has been proven to be wrong, the fact the he confessed the crime first but then retracted, the place where the fire happened is on the way to the place of crime, the testimony of the woman witness, and the scratch of the van in relation to the scratch of the curb are the reasons why the judgment was passed...perhaps this are also the reasons why the opposing lawyer would try to appeal the case---nonetheless, i hope that the proofs were of stronger basis especially given the idea that an accused is not a criminal unless there are sufficient proofs to say that he is a criminal, it's not the other way around wherein an accused is a criminal unless he proves to be innocent...
i saw a clip with shingo and kimura wherein they are in europe(?) filming (i don't know what)...and it's funny how there was a theater showing the hero movie with kimura's face shown in the billing...and since they are near the theater, shingo was like saying to the people, 'hey look, see that billing/ poster over there? that person is this (pointing to kimura) and kimura is like very embarrassed...

Thanks for your explanation. What you wrote makes sense. I thought more about it after I posted.

The defendent has been proven to have committed perjury. I guess there is no way he could come up with another story to give him an alibi... So even just for perjury, he would have been sentenced/penalised...
I don't remember the ending clearly anymore, sorry.
Does anyone know where I can download the Hero movie from and the subtitles to go with it?? I am a HUGE Kimura Takuya fan and have been looking to download this movie for a while.

This is another blueprint drama that is predictable and lacking variety. Although some of the cases (one case per episode, of course) were interesting, the show failed to hold my attention. It was boring and dull.
That being said, the discourse between Kimura and Matsu was fun to watch. The presence of Abe Hiroshi, and later of Iijima Naoko and Ryo is probably what prompted me to give this drama a 7 and not a 6.
I would recommend this drama to KimuTaku fans. Otherwise skip it.
O, and is the Special worth mentioning in this review? Nah. _________________

^ You should've said, "Watch the movie JUST FOR the ending," lol.
As a FILM, Hero the Movie was pretty mediocre. Unwieldy plot, uninspired writing, contrived situations (i.e. oh, let's make Kuryu and Amamiya go to Korea so we can insert that Byonsama cameo, even if the story would've been better off without that pointless Busan jaunt! ) despite the impressive production values. (Well, hello, it IS a frikkin' Kimura movie after all.) Unless you're a fan of the original series, don't bother with this!
As FAN SERVICE, I was only too happy to see KuryAm working together after six long years ("reunited and it feels so good..." lol), and the trusty old KimuMatsu magic is stronger than ever. (Those last five minutes or so = major SQUEEEEEE!!!!) Plus, the Gang is back, looking a bit older and the worse for wear, but you're just so happy to see them, too.

I don't think I thought too much of HERO. I am not a Kimura Matsu coupling fan at all. There is never a spark there since they did LOVE GENERATION. Very young Kimura was boisterous and sparkly even tho he thought of her as a little sister in real life. Since then Matsu had sort of 'ajummad' herself. She is a good actress. Could not possibly be anything else with her family and their theatrical backgroound.
I didn't remember them going to Seoul. I thought it was Busan where they met Lee Byung Hun for a split second.
At least they would all get some great fish meals there.
Ithink I would like to see Kimura act with Hirosue Ryoko s his leading lady. I still can see her in the first episode of MR.BRAIN Such a short scene but she was excellent and it stayed in my memory. She can be very sophisticated. I still remember her in SHOTGUN WEDDING with Yutaka Takenouchi.

^ Hi Peggy!
Oh right, it was Busan and not Seoul, my bad. Thanks for pointing it out! Post edited accordingly.
"where they met Lee Byung Hun for a split second" = Hahahahaha totally! But, man... I wonder how much he got paid just to put in that appearance.

Re Hirosue Ryoko (who was pretty good in DEPARTURES ), a full-length team-up with Kimura sounds like a good idea. I think her cameo in MR. BRAIN was a bit freaky for me, because prior to MR. BRAIN I had only really seen her in LONG VACATION (which I had watched barely a few weeks before), where she was just that "frikkin' little girl" (in my friend's words) whom Sena (oh Sena!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ) taught how to play "Chopsticks" or whatever. Seeing her as a full-grown woman took me a while to get used to.

SMAP's Kimura Takuya will be playing the role of charismatic prosecutor Kuryu Kohei in the new "HERO 2" which is due to be shown in the Gekku slot of summer 2014. The original drama which was aired in winter 2001, had featured Kimura and Matsu Takako and achieved above-30% ratings for all of its 11 episodes which resulted in an average rating of 34.3%. However, this time round, his new leading lady will be played by Kitagawa Keiko even though the setting of the drama is still at the Josei Branch of the prosecutors' office. After the original drama ended, there was a movie version in 2007 which was the top grossing film of that year with ticket sales of JPY 8.1bn.
Filming began from the 20th of this month. Co-stars include new additions Sugimoto Tetta and Hamada Gaku along with Kadono Takuzo and Kohinata Fumio who had appeared in the original series.
