But right now is Asian Cup... where Japan has more exp and considering Australia dogged by hot and humid weather and their performances, scrapped into the knockout round in their first Asian Cup following a 1-1 draw with Oman, a 3-1 defeat to Iraq and finally a 4-0 win over Thailand, Japan has a higher chances.
Of course there's no 100% sure, anything can happen and Australia will put up a fight in order not to lose face.

So Becks played his first match here for Los Angeles in an exhibition match vs. Chelsea...I didn't go because the tickets where astronomically expensive aside from being sold out...he's still hurt from his injury while playing for Real Madrid so he only played 12 minutes..
His yearly salary is about 20 million from the team in addition to about 42 million a year from product endorsements....a cool 60 million plus a year! That's a lot of money for a football player. A fortunate guy.
John Terry signed a new five-year contract with a base salary of between 131,000 and 135,000 british pound (about S$40 million?) per week with Chelsea, making him the highest-paid player in Premier League history.

Chelsea football club in turmoil as Mourinho quits
Jose Mourinho's three-year reign at Chelsea came to an abrupt end on Thursday as the Portuguese manager's fraught relationship with the club's Russian owner, Roman Abramovich, finally reached breaking point.
An announcement that will send shockwaves through English and European football came in the early hours of Thursday morning with Chelsea claiming that Mourinho had left "by mutual consent."
The Portuguese manager, who made his reputation by guiding FC Porto to Champions League glory in 2004, has transformed the English football landscape since taking over at Stamford Bridge in June 2004, winning two Premier League titles in his first two years in charge, the FA Cup last season and the League Cup in 2005 and 2007.
Of the 185 games he has been in charge, Chelsea have won 124, drawn 40 and lost 21, a record that includes a 60-match unbeaten run in Premier League matches at Stamford Bridge.
The statistics go some way towards justifying Mourinho's famous description of himself as "a special one."
But the success has failed to seduce Abramovich and the Russian's relationship with his most outspoken employee turned sour last season when he refused to come up with the funds Mourinho required to land his January transfer targets -- a stance the Portuguese believes contributed to Chelsea conceding the Premier League title to Manchester United.
On the other side of the feud, Abramovich has grown increasingly impatient with the fact that, after investing nearly 500 million pounds (one billion dollars) in the club, Chelsea have failed to conquer Europe and continue to lag behind the likes of Arsenal, Barcelona and Manchester United in terms of entertainment value.
Tuesday's disappointing 1-1 Champions League draw with Norwegian side Rosenberg -- watched by fewer than 25,000 fans -- appears to have brought simmering tensions to the boil, and, with hindsight, Mourinho's pre-match comments about the need to buy the best eggs to make the best omelette offered a hint that things were not going smoothly behind the scenes.
But the strain of Chelsea's poor recent form was evident on Saturday, when Mourinho tossed a flat-screen television set to the ground in frustration over a disallowed goal in his side's 0-0 draw with Blackburn.
The manager has also made no attempt to disguise his frustration with Chelsea's misfiring striker Andriy Shevchenko, whose 30-million-pound signing from AC Milan is widely believed to have been ordered by Abramovich.
Mourinho has also clashed with the Russian owner over backroom appointments, notably the May 2005 recruitment of Dutchman Frank Arnesen as the club's youth/scouting supremo and the appointment of Avram Grant as director of football. _________________

Now then...no Mourinho.Instead Grant and Steve Clarke's the manager for now.
One thing's for sure.Morale's down.Esp players like Lampard and Terry who's more loyal to Mourinho than to Chelsea. But like a blessing after the calamity...their next match is against the Red Devils. So if Grant can pull it off...well he can restore some pieces back into the damaged morale of Chelsea. His 1st win and more importantly,a win over a title rival.
But come to think of it...with Roman stating that he wants to win in stylish fashion like Man U...mayb Chelsea'll employ the wonder coach Fabio Capello. He's one of the best in this business and currently unemployed. There's rumors that he's pondering over a contact that will bring him to the States. Why waste such a talent to a country whose soccer aren't that competitive at the moment??? _________________

Anybody followed the Euro 2008 qualification action today? Unbelievable! England was handed the biggest and unexpected lifeline by Israel last Saturday and they still blew it
Playing at home (the brand spanking new Wembley) against already qualified Croatia, they just have to get a point, a freaking point...

Yeah, and they were asking for it too.
playing 4-5-1 with only Crouch up front isn't going to work - a player like him always needs a buddy around him. Each Croatia attack nearly resulted in a goal, now that's class. I really enjoyed the game , even though England was rubbish, it was one of the most exciting matches I've seen in years.
I think it's a shame that England isn't going to be playing Euro 2008 next year, but they really didn't deserve to.
same goes for Holland, the kind of football they've been playing since Van Basten is in charge we'll probably won't get through the first round this time...

Hm. About Euro-08.
Personally I was shocked for the courage and fight Finland put up in the A-gr. Of course it ended like "it was supposed to", with Poland and Portugal, but still. Whoa, my neighbous country is getting scary.
But they lost their magnificent coach to Inter Milan this week, so~
Messi, Kaká and C. Ronaldo are btw the three opponents to the Fifa-prize this year. _________________

Amazing and unlucky at the same time, I think a 1-1 draw would be a fair result. but in football nothing is fair...
there doesn't seem to be any big games left, cept for Holland vs France and France vs Italy. the other matches have been pretty dull, or one side is extremely bad making the oponent and result look strong. like yesterdays game Spain vs Russia, sure enough 4-1 may seem an awesome victory, but the russians were just rubbish in their defense.

Holland v France and Italy v France are mouthwatering ties.. If the quality of these matches are anywhere near what was on show on the match between Holland & Italy, we are in for some real treat..
Germany v Croatia match can be quite good as well.. Croatia has just scored a goal..
