i'm a bit happy with that too, though sad that japan is beaten to a pulp.
but i still think that ronaldo can do nothing much when they are facing bigger teams in the knockout stage.
but i dont really like the way the commentators making fun of ronaldo. they are treating him like he's a disabled person or something.

It wasn't Ronaldo who was great, it was the crappy Japanese defending. like the 1-1: nobody was marking or anywhere near Ronaldo Grumble

be that as it may there was no way the Japan was going to hold up against that offenseive onslaught...the Japanese initially played well but i knew they wouldn't hold up against 90 minutes of Brazilian soccer.

21 shots on goal AND 11 corner kicks.....Kawaguchi was working overtime today....

Aw... that's so awesome! But I know baseball is a bigger deal over there than anything else. They tried so I give them props for that... major! Applaud

Brazil VS. Ghana is next Monday... heh heh heh... I'm just happy Ghana made it to Round 2! Maybe with a few more cups things will turn around for the less famous countries.

There were some great zings in the paper re: US vs Ghana.

One newspaper headline wrote:

Going, going, Ghana

Some US soccer fan wrote:

[paraphrased] The US showed glimpses of brilliance, sandwiched between hours and hours of mediocrity.
