yeah, noticed that the drivers side is on the opposite side, while watching the j-drama and from my trip to japan, as i recall.
Occasionally you'll see the driver's seat being on the left even in Japan. Depends on the car, usually an import. I remember the toll booths being a bit more "optional" in some places so if people had those kinds of cars.
And yeah, I think they drive on the left side in Australia too....not sure though.

Yeah, I saw a few cars. Like I said, once in a while. Usually some dude in an import Most were right though, I'd say 95% or more. Yeah, of course the bus is on the right, people have to come through the door on the left ne? Taxi is right too.
When I said driving on the wrong side, I meant the cars themselves were on the left side of the road, as opposed to the right side of the road that we're used to here in the U.S...

i think many...
As do I. I'm pretty sure there are more however perhaps I should've been more specific in my earlier post?
What I was looking at is how many current actors are Asian mixed and who.
Thank you Supermidgit for your general overview though, however that was not the answer that I was looking for. _________________

Yeah, England and Japan seem to be the only ones...
Australia, maybe?
the aussies, too. however, it appears to be a status symbol in japan if you drive a left hooker even if the car's considered british like say a rolls royce or aston martin.
i don't know if this true but i've been told that the japanese drive on the left because the samurai used to walk on the left to avoid the banging of swords that were worn on the left.

I know for one that Lou Diamond Philips and Rob Schneider are part Filipino.
dochira I saw Lou Diamond Philips name but not Rob Schneider's name at this website. It doesn't mean Rob isn't part Filipino, it just means he wasn't listed on that site. OK for some reason my http://www.mixedfolks.com/ link has been ignorned twice now. Why I do NOT know? Probably because I do not have an avatar or signature. My posts look sooo small compared to everyone else's posts here. I am beginning to feel like the Invisible Man ( except I am a woman) Sooo this is my third and last time posting the mixed folks link, now don't make me come back here again.

Gomen. I was pointing out some that I knew off-hand. And both of them are listed on that site. Curiously I remember seeing somewhere that Rob Schneider would try to include his Filipina mom in all the movies he does. In some minor role (hotel maid for one).

Sumimasen dochira. Yeah I knew that you were naming some actors that you knew of off-hand. I missed Rob Schneider myself!!! That is nice that Rob includes his Mom in all of his films. Pretty soon it won't be so unusual or out of the ordinary to see more and more people of mixed races. The world is getting smaller and smaller and one day we are going to see one creamy-golden-reddish-beigey-brown race of humankind.

has anyone else heard that story?
all i know is that in england, people always marched on the left side, so their right sword arm would be pointed towards any passing enemy. This was widely held everywhere until Napoleon (who was left handed) demanded that all French march on the right. Apparently any place that was culturally influenced by or occupied by the French, took the right side, and any english the left. Someone told me we (the english) helped build Japan's railroads and so we encouraged them to drive on the left. but I think your samurai theory makes sense too, after all when walking on roads samurai would need their sword arm ready. so i think your story is probably true.
