Do you know that there is a new japanese channel call the JET TV on air here, in Singapore? Actually, it is a taiwanese channel, but it shows only japanese variety shows and dramas. If you are the type of people who are really into japanese, tune in now!

Its a damn terrible channel. They show DAMN old dramas and most of the time they show only a Japan sight seeing show.

actually jet tv was started abt 4 yrs back... and was orignally based in singapore ! it was a collaboration among a few jap companies, i think tbs was one of them...then it closed shop becoz of the asian financial crisis...a taiwanese company bought over the rights to running this channel...hence the present format heavily-taiwanese influenced...the current run seems to show many stuffs only from tv tokyo... no other stations like fuji, tbs or ntv... things mite improve when more pple complain abt the old shows... one new drama coming up something abt the doctor sisters... starring one of the morning musume girl...forgot her name... goto maki ?? gomen ne... oboete nai...

This Jet TV channel... wat are the broadcast time? Coz i tried to tune to the channel but couldn't find it... Or izzit only for SCV users?

in singapore scv, it is on channel 57...24hrs... the free viewing for scv subscribers were in october... after 1-nov now muz pay... it is oso available in many other countries' cable channels...

currently, most of the offerings are not the latest stuffs from japan...but then, everything comes down to cost... to get the latest n greatest means most likely paying alot more for it...

if u r juz into the j popular culture stuffs or juz the j trendy dorama category, then this channel and channel 43 nhk may disappoint u... but if u r really into real jap culture n non-jpop stuffs et al, then this 2 channels will be very good...

i've seen that channel too. there's not much to watch at that channel. they're always showing japanese sightseeing...
