plucking the eye brows for guys is more like 'shaping' them so it does not looks fuzzy.

Like me, my eyebrows are connected between left and right, well I don't know why my my grand parents say it's not a good thing, so does the camera guy, so they start plucking the eye brows and I am just there thinking =P

Peopel accuse me of plucking my brows but I don't. They used to be perfect but now I'm punished with imperfect eyebrows. They're still good, though. Smile

I don't really like it when girls pluck their brows. Unless they have a monobrow, they should just leave them alone, I think.

Also, there were some young toughs in high school that shaved their eye brows and had their nails done and light make up and such. The only curious thing about it is that when I first got into the school, all of the people that were doing this were part of a teen sect called "rebels". Guys, often gang members, that wore dingy jeans and t-shirts and had a sort of grungy look. It was an unexpected change~
hehehehe i was like that in highschool...hahahhaha small world isn't it? (but i never put make-up on)

i have to be honest I DO SHAVE my eyebrows.... but not completely i just define the shape... its better than having bushy eyebrows ... plus it pays off when girls complimante me on my eyes and my eyebrows

hey atleast im big enough to admit it, they just look 'cleaner'

I guess you don't have a unibrow?

I pluck mine to keep me from looking like Bert on Sesame St.

Unibrow?? Nope.

I'd wish I could grow a goatee, though. Smile

I like when guys have neat eyebrows and not like two caterpillars, or a unibrow. At least with tweezers they can clean it up without it looking, uh, girlie. When guys get their eyebrows waxed as opposed to plucking them, that's a bit too much for me. If a guy has a better arch than me, I get scared. Morita Gou's eyebrows scare the p00 out of me Google hehe

I used to have a friend in school who had a unibrow....for YEARS. They called her Bert. hehe Her unibrow was a lot like Salma Hayek's in Frida. She asked her brother one day when she was 16 or so, "How come I have a unibrow and you don't....you're a guy and are supposed to be hairier than me" and he said,"WTF? I DID! I've been plucking that since I was like 13!". DOH! LOL Nut Beaten

Hahahahaha hehe Caterpillars lol *LOL*
I think only gay guys can acheive a better arch than a woman. Bleah
So there's no need to be scared.

And tell your friend from high school to get more tips from her bro!!! hehe

Uh. Honestly (and, I'm being diplomatic here . . . I think) . . . uh . . . unless it's for a medically-necessary reason, I see as much reason for a guy to pluck his eyebrows proportional to their inclination to shave their legs. Heck, if the brow is distractingly bushy . . . just trim it a little.

The United States is currently seeing the term "metrosexual" going around (in my opinion, the term is on its way out; i.e., not mentioned AT ALL, say, in tonight's 76th Annual Academy Awards, even as a punchline). The suffix "-sexual" in the term is puzzling as, we are admonished, "metrosexual" merely states to indicate a male's (20-30 years of age, mostly) ultra connection with his appearance and not necessarily his "preference" in matters of lust or love with regard to both genders.

"The Word Spy" has more detail on this term (which was # 1 in its top 100 words of 2003) if you're interested: http://www.wordspy.com/words/metrosexual.asp

But . . . plucking eyebrows. Just not my thing. How'd this start amongst guys in Japan anyway?

I think it's ok for a guy to pluck his eyebrows. Hey, I even shave my legs too. Sweat I hope you're not thinking I'm gay or anything. It all started from football in high school. Everyone did it, and since then, I haven't stopped. Nut Plus too, I lift weights, so the hair gets in the way of my (tattoo) and calve and hamstring definition. But plucking my eyebrows, I see no problem to that, just as long as I don't shape it like a chick. I just keep it from making me look like Bert or Oscar the Grouch from Sesame St. Shaving/trimming it would 'cause me to spend more time working on it on a weekly basis. (I'm Okinawan you know) God knows I got no life and that I can't be spending all of my time on my eyebrows. I got other things to do, like just sit around and play with this stupid computer. Nut Beaten

Don't know. Maybe they want to be all bubble gum like Justin Timberlake and whatnot.
But as far as the Okinawans are concerned, it's 'cause they're hairy! Beaten

OK, there you go, a forum is for an exchange of ideas, and here, my inter-message board colleague Aho has educated me. I stand corrected -- you have a reason, based on what you do nowadays -- lifte weights, etc. -- for doing that. I'm not trying to instigate anything 'bout sexual preference here . . . it's just that, for me (if I didn't make it clear earlier Sweat ), it's not my thing. More power to you if you do it -- pluck your eyebrows, shave your legs, whatever -- it's just that, I, personally, don't find any reason for it.

I can't help but wonder what some plucked eyebrows on males look like.

I bet you couldn't tell anyway. The majority look like the people who dont'. It's unless if the person who does it goes waaaaaaaaaay off board and shapes out and thins it out like a chick. Now that to me, is GAY!

Hey!!! I'm a hairy bastard, but I still look good! Sweat
Besides, I use that whole 'plucking my eyebrow' bit just as an excuse to admire myself in the mirror. A true narcissus. Beaten

So at least i don't feel guilty now, i did the same thing!!! only we weren't kids but in the barracks in the USMC. Yeah, we were (amoung about 5 of us) all wasted drunk at that time, and he was knocked out. After i did one of them, I felt bad because it would look weird with just leaving him with one brow, so i felt better buy shaving them both off! Altho he was initially upset, (i dont know why he would...) but he was cool with it after that, b/c payback WAS hell.
