i had a dream a few days ago that i was somehow romantically involved with nanako-san. and from that dream spawned a flurry of new thoughts.
i've decided that my dream is to become proficient in japanese, fly to japan, and woo the heart of nanako-san. by that time, she'll probably be like 35 or so, but that doesn't matter. she'll still be beautiful.

My dream job is to be a travel journalist. I can't stand sitting in the office working from 9-5!
My dream is to sit a space shuttle and go into space one day...when I have saved enough money to do that. I think that will be a long long time. But dreams keep our life alive, don't they? _________________

Damn, it only happens here on jdorama: people manage to dig up 2 year old threads and get away with it
dreamjob huh, I always thought being manager would be great. I've been that for 2 years at a musicstore and I can tell you it isn't.
Then somehow I ended up working at a bank and became an IBM mainframe engineer. I'm still managing stuff, but i'm far from having the final word, being surrounded by incompetent people and people who know nothing about the whole process is really frustrating. Having to be on-call for 24-7 isn't really relaxing either. Working irregular hours really destroys my social life too.
My dreamjob: I wanna be a Beachboy! don't laugh - yes like in the jdorama - and have no worries. (or pretend to not to have any)

When I was a manager, it was half of a dream job. The people I managed were great people, we were productive, we had a lot of fun at work, and we were proud of what we were doing. But the other half was protecting those great people from the idiots who were running the company and always asking for more production, less pay, and who should be laid off as they increase the work load. (No-nothing consultants would come in and tell upper management what they wanted to hear, that less people can turn out more product. Then they'd take their checks and run.)
I lasted about a year and a half in that position, but after that I was so exhausted, I finally had to quit. Now I'm freelance and loving the absence of politics. (Maybe that, in itself, is a dream job.)

I totally know how you feel, those bastards: they only know the $$$
when you finally get a nice crew together after lots of time invested in training etc, they always decide to leave or get laid off.
being freelance can be nice, but when I look at those freelancers here in my department: they are being treated like slaves. well ok, they deserve to be because they make so much money

my dream job would be a formula 1 test driver. why? because you still get to drive the cars but don't have the pressure of having to win races. plus, i still think you can get the ladies

Heh, I was thinking along those same lines, but maybe driving saloons would be cool, too:

My dream job is working as a researcher to find a cure for lupus. Especially since I'm being watched for signs of the disease right now. My dream is to learn at least four more languages (working on two as we speak) and to travel the world with no hang ups or worries. _________________
